Tweet from a Kuwaiti lawyer who says she encountered one of the bidun defendants recently arrested at the Office of the Public Prosecution and he still bore visible injures (broken nose). This is a disturbing indication of likely abuse of at least some defendants in this case.

Amnesty is concerned about the developing case of Mohammed Khudair al-Anzi who appears to be targeted in part in relation to a recent speech & his activities on behalf of the #Bidun community in #Kuwait. He was arrested on 11 July and will appear before the prosecution tomorrow.

Today we welcome the Amir of #Kuwait's decision to pardon Hamad al-Naqi, a #PrisonerOfConscience who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012 for tweets deemed blasphemous and critical of #KSA and #Bahrain. He should have not been jailed for expressing his opinion.
