One of the biggest advantage Vijay as a CM has is that he didn't win with the support of any other political party nor did he make it with the support of any officers, organizations etc. People voted just for him and they didn't actually care who the MLA candidates were also.
So Vijay now can go ruthless in culling out the corrupt individuals in the government starting from the officers to TVK members to even his own ministers. It is not going to affect his vote bank or his government in any way. It is only going to strengthen his tenure more and more with public support. He can ignore any resistance or threat coming from anyone on his war against corruption and keep doing what he is doing.
