@pickledswans@amyharp327@jenniferwilkin Yes to all. Many churches partner with schools to assist in these matters. In my experience, it isn’t the school systems that have left Christianity; it is Christians that have abandoned their community.
@MrsKBing@jenniferwilkin However, on multiple mission trips we’ve seen homeschool boys bully the girls, share inappropriate sexual content, & exclude others. Bullies & poor choices exist everywhere, and I don’t make assumptions about all homeschool families based on sensationalistic stories in media.
@MrsKBing@jenniferwilkin I have not had this experience in public schools & I have been pleased with my daughters’ opportunities to celebrate and practice their faith w/in the public school setting. Our church is predominantly homeschool families, & we love them as well. (Cont’d)
@PGalloway16@CoachRC23 I agree w/ you. However, I think UIL will have to amend.Years ago, the head coach of a private school attended our 8th grade championship & was able to get the QB to repeat 8th in private school. After 2 yrs, he’s back in public as an 18 yr old JR.He’s never attended his area HS.
@sully7777 Do you feel this way about every NCAA sport, or do you only speak out when it impacts women? How does one build a program when your first year as coach you have three returning players?
Seen a TON of misinformation regarding transfers for Texas and Texas Tech softball. The numbers floating around are incorrect for both teams. So this should help provide some accurate information and also some context to the discussion.
Texas Tech has eight new transfers on the roster in 2026. They have 15 total transfers.
Texas has four new transfers on the roster in 2026. They have five total transfers.
Texas Tech's eight new transfers this season:
Jackie Lis (Southern Illinois)
Mia Williams (Florida)
Lagi Quiroga (Cal)
Taylor Pannell (Tennessee)
Desi Spearman (New Mexico State)
Jazzy Burns (Ohio State)
Kaitlyn Terry (UCLA)
Nikolette Schmidt (Houston)
Texas' four new transfers this season:
Kaiah Altmeyer (Arizona)
Taylor Anderson (Oklahoma State)
Brenlee Gonzales (Texas Tech)
Sophia Bordi (Oklahoma)
Texas Tech's prior transfers:
Alana Johnson (Washington)
Nija Canady (Stanford)
Mihyia Davis (Louisiana)
Chloe Riasetto (Louisiana)
Vic Valdez (Louisiana)
Lauren Allred (Louisiana)
Makayla Garcia (UT-Tyler)
Texas' prior transfers:
Kaydee Bennett (Abilene Christian)
One other note of context: Gerry Glasco took over at Texas Tech prior to the 2025 season. Davis, Riassetto, Allred, and Valdez came with him from Louisiana (along with the now graduated Alexa Langeliers) to help build this new program that had only three returners from the 2024 team: Reagan Jennings, Logan Halleman, and Demi Elder.
They had three players left from the prior era. The portal (and their eight-player recruiting class for 2025) was necessary to mold a roster out of thin air.
So anyway, stop sharing that bogus graphic... and also stop acting like any team that is utilizing the transfer portal or NIL (Texas, Texas Tech or anyone else) is doing anything wrong.
@DebShepMoy1@Vol_Softball@ryleerobinsontv Perhaps we should consider why the reporter would even ask that question on the first place. I think there’s room for blame for Tenn and the reporter. Do you really think a 20 year old masterminded psychological warfare on another team?
@amuse What’s the source that Talarico was invited? Is their record of the invitation and/or his response? It could be said Ken Paxton was invited, as Paxton ACCEPTED a dinner invite from a Denton family & their transgender daughter/son. As written, this is irresponsible reporting.
@Croz1968 @jen_schro@UCLASoftball Way to lift up women, man. Do you detest every player from every sport who enters the transfer portal, or just women from the teams you support?
@end3of6days9 Bullies exist in all educational settings. On our daughter’s mission trip last year, it was the homeschool boys bullying. Now that they’ve graduated, one of those boys is awaiting trial for 2nd degree strangulation. Children need boundaries & structure no matter where they are.
@NotJackKemp I really enjoyed this discussion. The attacks elsewhere are a beat down and unproductive. I lean conservative, but Brent’s words on education funding are incorrect. Teacher pay & buildings are 2 separate entities, & he should know that if he’s voting on funding that impacts it.
@brentmoney@thedumbzone I enjoyed this discussion. I appreciate both points of view, & I tend to agree Brent’s views, except for public education funding. Responses were well thought out, but your conclusion lacks explanation regarding funding. Buildings & teacher pay are two separate funding sources.
