BREAKING: Ms. Buckner, the warden of Missouri Correctional Center, was fired following a drug and contraband investigation.
The Missouri Department of Corrections must prioritize accountability and work to rectify deadly conditions at SCCC.
"Today, Jennifer Clemons-Abdullah’s employment with the City of St. Louis was separated effective immediately. Tammy Ross is currently acting as the Commissioner of Corrections."
At @FCCStLouis we’ve been organizing with the families and people detained at CJC.
They’ve been clear about what they wanted. We gathered what we heard in this letter addressed to @saintlouismayor and @saintlouispres.
#nomorejaildeaths rally is a wrap and we are holding the press conference outside of city hall. @MikeAMilton314 of @FCCStLouis reads the demand letter co-signed by 25 organizations sent to Mayor Jones and #StlBoA President Green today.

They eliminated paper mail in MoDOC, and overdose deaths rose. These types of policies only harm people by cutting ties between communities in and out of prison. They don't reduce drug use or overdoses behind bars.
"In other states, rates of overdoses and drug use increased following the replacement of physical mail with mail scanning. There’s no evidence that suspending the delivery of physical mail to people who are incarcerated will make anyone safer." https://t.co/Xn7Gx9EpM4

"If one person would have stepped in and said, 'Hey, this is not right.' If one person who had the power to do something would have done something, he could still be alive today." https://t.co/Nc8Q4S5fiw
Our client, Terrell Robinson, has spent 14+ years in prison after his parole was revoked without due process.
MJC is fighting for the MO Supreme Court to order his release and free him from this unlawful incarceration.

In late September, the U.S. executed five people in one week—a record not seen in decades.
On #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty, we must recognize the injustice of capital punishment and work toward ending it nationwide.

Moved by the words of Marcellus Williams Jr., who encouraged us not to be angry, not to hate; but to honor his father’s memory through love. Hug your kids, enjoy a good meal together, he said. My kids bore witness & that’s what we did tonight. #AbolishTheDeathPenalty
