It's turned into a kind of cold & rainy afternoon, & I just lectured about 19th c "good death" & watched the reading of the Sullivan Ballou letter from "The Civil War" for the umpteenth time... don't mind me, just weeping in my office now 😭
@jstrom1224 Turns out that I COULD have made the tech work if the keyboard was functional. But it was not (thanks whoever was last in that classroom & didn't report it).
Today was my 1st day in a classrm I've never stepped foot in & had tech unlike any rm I've been in on campus, so OF COURSE I couldn't get the tech to work. BUT the students were rly into discussing Rev War camp followers, filling my ❤️ with joy. Still gonna count it as a win!🎆
@gbarnhisel Haven't been on Twitter all day & was just watching the evening news report about this, happened to see the photo credit, & definitely exclaimed, "I know Greg Barnhisel!!" at my TV 😂 What a way to begin a Friday.
My last story of the year comes out of Bethlehem, PA, where this fall a courageous principal, and his staff and students, allowed me tell one of the most important stories of our time.

Thys yeare, it ys okaye if festivitye ys not thy thing. It ys okaye to be lonely. It ys okaye to be sad. It ys okaye to have tiny plans that yet seem exhausting. Take care of thyself. We are all straungeres here looking out for each othir yn the wynter. Thou art amazinge.
It's done! Pressed submit on all the Fall 2021 grades... Wishing this felt more satisfying, & not like I'm staring at a list of reports & email follow-ups standing between me & truly kissing this semester buh-bye. 👏🥳💻 🙄
