I was delighted to present the 2025 fiscal year budget, titled “Transformational and Infrastructural Budget,” before the Sokoto State House of Assembly.
The budget sums up to Five hundred and twenty-six billion, eight hundred and eighty-two million, one hundred and forty-two thousand, four hundred eighty-four Naira and thirty nine Kobo (N526,882,142,484.39) and aims to promote continued growth, transformation, and prosperity in the state.
This budget will address key issues outlined in the nine priority areas of our administration: Security, Religious Affairs, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Water Supply, Empowerment, Economy, and Local Government Autonomy.
Additionally, we have approved a minimum wage of N70,000 for the vibrant workforce of our state.
Together, we will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to the people of Sokoto State. -AAS
My message to POS operators, transaction above 500k can get you into trouble. Dont be a tool for kidnappers to collect ransom. It must be traced to you. She received #4,000,000 ransom from kidnappers and her profit was just #40,000. Can you imagine? Be wise, you may argue that you are doing busines, but before your lawyer will get you out, you may spend sometime cooling off in prison
Deformation of character to the One citizen of my dear Motherland.
What kind of politics are we playing??
Don't worry, time is there waiting for your own hero to assume the office.
I wish you won't be among those that will deform his Character that time.
My dear sokoto people (politicians in particular) this una new habit of disgracing one another on the social media streets is totally wrong!
As in nothing good will come out of it please 🙏
THE SCANDAL OF SOKOTO STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL CONTRACT
The people of Sokoto State have faced a major scandal involving the construction contract for the Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital, marked by clear acts of deception, massive corruption, and a disregard for the intelligence of the citizens.
On July 2, 2020, @AWTambuwal ’s government awarded the contract for building the Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital, located along the Airport road, at a staggering cost of N6.6 billion. The government promised that the project would be completed within 30 months. The people of Sokoto remained hopeful and patiently waited for the completion of the project.
However, five months into the project, in December 2020, the Sokoto government announced an additional N5.4 billion for the same project, raising the total cost from N6.6 billion to N12 billion, claiming it was to speed up the work. Again, the people of Sokoto watched silently.
After 21 months out of the 30-month project timeline, the Sokoto government again allocated an additional N2.4 billion to ensure the project was completed on time. This brought the total cost from N12 billion to N14.4 billion.
Yet, after the project deadline passed with no progress and no funds left, Tambuwal’s administration further allocated another N4.2 billion under the guise of "Contract Variation." This brought the total contract value to N18.6 billion, with the promise that the teaching hospital would be completed and operational before the end of Tambuwal’s tenure.
Despite these billions spent, the Sokoto government again allocated N509 million for the purchase of Anti-Malaria drugs for the unfinished hospital, and an additional N277 million was set aside for medical equipment, even though the hospital was not yet completed.
To make matters worse, Governor Tambuwal himself announced that the project was nearing completion and that equipment had been ordered to prepare for its grand opening.
The question for the people of Sokoto is: has the Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital truly been completed as promised?
