On this historic #WorldWaterDay, I have a request for leaders meeting at the UN this week:
Take #WaterAction, put the #WaterJusticeManifesto by brave water defenders at the heart of these talks.
Water is NOT a private commodity.
Water is a shared human right. Water is Life.
The extinction of these species would have catastrophic run-on effects on global #biodiversity.
To ensure the survival of land vertebrates &life on earth, we must rapidly cut our emissions to stop extreme heat making the earth uninhabitable.

The Amazon is the world’s largest tropical forest. It spans nine countries and is home to some 30 million people &counting. It generates oxygen, it affects weather patterns the world over, it’s critical for preventing a #climatecrisis.

The land we depend on is under threat. 🍎⛈
Land degradation drives losses in agricultural production through:
🪨Erosion
🥀Soil fertility loss
☀️Salinization
💧&other processes
This is a real risk to food security.

.@POTUS pledged to end new drilling on federal lands.
This disastrous decision to approve the Willow Project in Alaska, one of the largest oil development projects in decades, will have devastating consequences on our planet, frontline communities, and wildlife.
BREAKING: The Biden Administration has just approved ConocoPhillips's Willow oil project, ignoring pleas from millions who called for the Alaska oil-drilling plan to be halted due to concerns about climate change. 🧵
The evidence is clear: biodiversity is in unprecedented decline. At the rate it is degrading, we face imminent collapse.
@UNESCO's mission is to restore biodiversity and make peace with the nature around us 🌿💚
We must reconcile with nature to protect it!

Dear President Biden and Secretary of the Interior, we are crying out for our Mother Earth. For the generations to come. You need to do more, fight the difficult fights, and let people know you got their backs. We need you to be champions to motivate us to champion you.
There are whales alive today who were born when George IV ascended the throne. Some of the bowhead whales in the icy waters of Alaska are over 200 years old.
