🦉As promised my Sheffield Wednesday Recruitment Plan for the 23/24 season is now here🦉Featuring 36 players!
Please give it a read, no sign up required. Yumpu is simple to use and it is easy to zoom in on graphics/text on mobile or desktop #SWFC#WAWAW https://t.co/G7UVpKy3Lh
@ashmore_matt Useful profile for sure. Difficult to really judge this season given any player would struggle up top currently but there's no point in doing the hard work in developing players without reward (a decent fee or him belting L1 next season).
Personally think selling Bailey Cadamarteri is a red line not to cross for #SWFC 🦉
I can understand losing Kakay, Alao, Cadamarteri Jr. to elite clubs and accept Bannan etc. moving on to bring funds in but you have to try retain the likes of Bailey & Charles through this mess.
🚨As called by @robstaton, understand Wednesday have rejected two further bids for Bailey Cadamarteri.
Millwall's interest in Owls players doesn't seem likely to end anytime soon.

Not much to blame on the overseers at #SWFC here. The EPPP system is designed for higher category clubs to loot young lads from hometown clubs for derisory amounts. Fundamentally he isn't on a pro contract & every club in the region has experienced this. Shame as Alao is class🦉
🚨Understand Yisa Alao is edging closer to a transfer to Chelsea. Has had big interest from a number of PL clubs.
Deal not done yet, but Owls set to claim 'high six-figure' upfront fee with add-ons.

@veggiekrays Many such cases when young lads are transferring from development football to mens unfortunately. Still time for him to make a push at getting back into the EFL but that's down to him.
🦉Ex #SWFC youngster Joey Phuthi on the move. Step 2 Eastbourne didn't quite work out but he's done the right thing and dropped a league to get more regular game time. Cleethorpes a credible outfit in that league and they'll be wanting to push on again.
The Owls are please to announce the signing of Joey Phuthi
Phuthi moved from his native Zimbabwe to England at the age of 12. He began playing football with Wincobank Juniors, before moving to the academy of Sheffield Wednesday at 13 and worked his way up their youth categories.
On 29 August 2023 he signed his first professional contract with Sheffield Wednesday. He made his senior and professional debut with Sheffield Wednesday as a substitute in a 2–0 loss to Coventry City.
On 20 June 2025, Eastbourne Borough announced the signing of Phuthi, from 1 July 2025 once his Sheffield Wednesday contract has expired. He made his debut on the opening day of the season, coming off the bench against Farnborough
On 12 March 2024, Phuthi was called up to the full Zimbabwe squad to play in the Malawi Four Nations Tournament. He made his international debut for Zimbabwe against Kenya on 26 March 2024.
Welcome to the owls Joey #UTO
@StevieClay They potentially do view them as near peer talents or Stretch above. No reason as to why Stretch can't get to the same level with some exposure and time. I think most expected to see Barrett more, think the injury timing and recovery was probably unfortunately for him in that.
In the short term you might raise an eyebrow given current keeper situation at #SWFC but I don't think a transfer fee should be sniffed at for development players. Understand the boy just wants to play mens football so might be a move that works out for Barrett and Wednesday.
Killian Barrett has joined League Two side @BarrowAFC on a permanent transfer.
Good luck, Killian and all the best for the future

@StevieClay A fair point. For me (and this is no disrespect given he's younger and not had that mens exp' yet) Stretch is behind Barrett for #1.
Boston a tough gig at the time, lots of chopping and changing and sharing GK duties with Lovett oddly but wouldn't say it's been all bad there.
No surprise that Joel Akpobi has officially signed for #SWFC. Just a shame that it took this long since he first appeared back in the summer. Personally I think he adds some quality to the U18/21s squads who are understandably in need of reinforcements.
AVAILABLE FOR OPPORTUNITIES ⚽️✍🏻 I've left my First Team Scout role at @bromleyfc so I'm seeking paid opportunities in football recruitment as per the below. I would appreciate any heads up on leads from friends/colleagues in the game - even if you just want to talk recruitment!
For 1 or 2 games, I'd field Killian Barrett or Logan Stretch for #SWFC instead. You should be forced to use what you have on your books in these circumstances - draw a comparison to the NFL, when the QB gets injured the 2nd and 3rd choices step up. Barrett gets the nod for me🦉
1/2 🚨 Understand #SWFC are in talks with Bristol City over a deal to sign goalkeeper Joe Lumley on an emergency loan. The EFL are set to approve the transfer following Evan Horvath's red card at the weekend. Hearing Horvath could be suspended for two matches. 🦉⚽️
Some #SWFC heritage in the Baller League draft pool.
🦉Jonatas Centeno was a 🇵🇹 youth international who plays RB/RW that signed from Arsenal in '15 for the development squad. Released in '17 before having a brief career in the 🇸🇪 4th tier & retiring; but recently returned to ⚽️
@MattSummerhill A balanced take there Matt. Yes, easy enough to have a couple of solid one off games in the cup on TV. Be interesting to see how it holds over a full season for some of them 🤔 that training ground experience will be great for them as well.
Interesting performances in these 3 EFL Cup games from the young #SWFC boys🦉 Some have stepped up and changed my mind on them, whilst others have perhaps hit their career ceiling. But you cannot question the commitment in any of them. Interested to hear other people's thoughts?
Really rate George Brown's hold up play in this goal. Expertly fends off Bijol and knocks the ball with his chest into path of Jarvis Thornton for a great first time strike. I might have enjoyed the build up more than the actual goal! #SWFC
Sheffield Wednesday have stunned Leeds United at Hillsborough.
Jamal Lowe's effort squirms underneath goalkeeper Karl Darlow to give the Championship strugglers the lead.

🦉Interesting story about one of the released #SWFC youngsters at the end of the 24/25 season.
Caiden Remy-Dee signed for Step 4 non league side, Ware FC, in August and has already got 3 goals in 5 games. A flying start for the young 18 year old in a tough and physical league🦉
