Happy child = Happy Mom! Seeing a child Happy is one of the best feelings ❤️ in the World for a mother. That is why we implement Community Based Supplementary Feeding Programme (CBSFP) in Karamoja to improve the health and nutrition status of children.
Distributions of protection rations in Karamoja target families with malnourished children, pregnant and nursing mothers. The project is implemented by @AndreFoods in partnership with @WFP
AFI supports nursing mothers with space to breastfeed at work. Our baby-friendly spaces (BFS) located at final distribution points are shielded from view and free from public intrusion. Mothers can now keep a consistent schedule by taking “reasonable break time” to breastfeed.
"What a man can do, a woman can do." Meet Hellen Taban, a refugee volunteer with AFI. She uses her platform to rally for women to join the workforce, especially male-dominated fields.
Continues this week at @UNGeneva: Human Rights Council, 42nd session (through 27 September). Follow @UN_HRC & see: https://t.co/omBJZd0c2Q #StandUp4HumanRights
More than just food. AFI is supporting Ministry of Health to deliver micronutrient powder (MNP) to children in Karamoja to fortify homemade food. This program follows the National Infant and Young Child Feeding Guidelines by addressing micronutrient deficiencies, like anemia
Matching to promote Breastfeeding! Today AFI joined the rest of the world to celebrate #breastfeeding Week 2019. Breast milk not only boosts the baby's immune system, it creates a lasting bond between the mother and the child
At a @WFP food distribution point in Rhino Camp #refugee settlement, #Uganda, partner @AndreFoods grows eggplants, cabbages & more in old maize sacks. Supplementing monthly WFP rations, the crops boost nutrition for pregnant women & young mothers - both refugees and Ugandans.
Thank you to @SwedeninUganda for their support to the most vulnerable in West Nile, helping both host communities and refugees.
The US$50m grant signed today with @WFP & @UNICEFUganda will improve resilience, health, nutrition and social protection.
The world is facing a "climate apartheid" between the rich who can protect themselves and the poor who are left behind, the UN warns.
More than 120M people could slip into poverty within the next decade because of climate change, a new report estimates. https://t.co/PmNBuFZCsa
