@RowlandAkpan What often distinguishes an excellent doctor is how they use what they know, how they think, and how they treat the person in front of them.
So yes, grades matter. But they are not the whole measure of a doctor. 3/3
@RowlandAkpan That is not always the case.
Good grades matter. Nobody is saying knowledge is irrelevant. A doctor must know their stuff. But medicine is not simply the recitation of facts or the ability to pass exams.
Ultimately, we care for people, not just diseases. 1/3
@RowlandAkpan The best doctors see the person beyond the pathology. They listen well, communicate clearly, recognise uncertainty, and make wise decisions in real human situations.
There is already more information about diseases than any one person can fully absorb. 2/3
“Dear migrants, before I say any other word to you, I want to bow before your dignity.
“You are not numbers or case files.
“You are people — with a family and a home left behind, with dreams that no one has the right to scorn.” — Pope Leo XIV
@Ajolarr@IamToyinRoberts It is a doctor's job to ensure a patient understands their diagnosis and management plan AND consents to it. If family needs an update, especially the next of kin who is likely most responsible for the patient, they should be updated as well with patient's consent.
@Ajolarr@IamToyinRoberts The reason anyone of us have a job is because of the patient. While some patients may seem overbearing, it is often from a place of worry and the skill is to reassure and build rapport.
The line is drawn when there is abuse of any sort. And that goes for every profession.
@Morris_Monye@john322226 In a world where authenticity is becoming scarce, being real is a treasure. It'll take work, but it is worth it. The people you want to serve deserve it, and would need you absolutely relational....in every way.
@Morris_Monye@john322226 Others have already spoken about the messaging. I'll go further.
As an initial draft, it is a good attempt, however, it feels forced, unnatural... you could have a mix of proper video work with real people, and a slight mix of AI.
You can’t hear these kind of stories and tell the victims, as the president that “I have just 10 minutes to be here”, or as his supporter, say that “people are kidnapped everyday in their homes”. This isn’t politics. People are actually losing their lives in the most brutal way.
