Today was the day I left Sweden. It has been a day full of emotions, both positive ones and negative ones. It is, for me, the end of an era.

"We have gone through this in a way that has meant that people have lost their loved ones" ⬇️
That doesn't really sound like "we have done everything possible to reduce the spread as much as possible", does it?
Hallengren erkänner att man valde ett sätt att hantera pandemin i Sverige som ledde till att många människor dog.
Från idag i programmet Malou efter 10.

⚠️ Wear better masks
One thing that has shocked me for a long time is the people I see freneticly disinfecting their hands after touching a door, while wearing a surgical/cloth mask. They're obviously still convinced it spreads through surfaces. Such a miss.
We could have saved many lives if:
- we treated the virus as airborne until proven otherwise
-we focused on getting *everyone* better masks from the very start
-we utilized rapid antigen tests as a public health tool rather than a medical diagnostic

@ashishkjha ➡️ even though we know that vaccinated people can still get infected and spread Covid to others. So how would a vaccine mandate be safe for air travel, without testing? In my opinion there should be either both testing + vaccine mandate or just testing mandate
@ashishkjha One thing I really don't feel safe about is that if I got on a plane before I knew that everyone had been tested - and tested negative (people weren't vaccinated so they couldn't travel without tests); but now that people are vaccinated they don't have to test negative anymore ➡️
Don't get me wrong, if you're an immigrant & want to work in cleaning/elderly care/preschools/supermarkets you will find work eventually. Just don't expect to easily find a job related to your education & experience.
When I lived in Sweden I realized I wasn't getting job interviews even though I sent 100s of CVs. Someone said "it's because of your name". I quickly informed my boyfriend I'd change my last name when we got married. I was young & stupid, now I've learned to value myself more
"These restrictions are gone because there is NO RISK of Covid spreading in public transportation"
First of all, lady: there's risk, whether you think so or not - Covid19 doesn't care
Second of all: there were never restrictions, everything was recommendations & ppl didn't care
29 september 2021. Suss Forssman Thullberg, kommunikationschef på SL, säger att restriktioner försvinner för att det inte är någon risk för smitta i kollektivtrafiken.
Look at these people behaving like they've made so many sacrifices & postponed life so much in Sweden during the pandemic ⬇️
Note: restaurants/bars/discos NEVER closed in Sweden. Oh & people going there NEVER even had to wear masks. Because, u know, 🇸🇪 is the land of the free 🙃
@totoroinatree @mask_up_sweden These are people close to me who are very careful about Covid & we're eager to get vaccinated, but got concerned when seeing family members suffer after taking the vaccine. I can only hope the site effects wear off, they understand it's safe in 99.999999% of the times & take it
@totoroinatree @mask_up_sweden ➡️ suffer serious side effects from the vaccine, unfortunately. It's of course very rare & ppl should still understand that the risks of Covid are much higher, but I get how they feel when they're having to choose between taking it or not when seeing their mom suffering b/c of it
