🇯🇵 Many people often comment how Tommy Heavenly6's "Hey My Friend" (2004) looks a lot like Avril Lavigne. This was done on purpose. The whole concept behind this video was to basically pay homage to early 2000s Avril.
🇯🇵 A lot of people might not be familiar with Takako Mamiya. She only released one album in 1982 and it's absolutely wonderful. A must listen if you like city pop.
In my continuing doomed attempt to promote more 1980s Dutch pop music on X, may I present The Star Sisters and their 1985 hit He's The One!
Starting out as backing singers for novelty act Stars on 45, the trio began releasing Andrews Sisters cover versions in 1940s outfits, before backcombing their hair, pulling on their glad rags and delivering some very radio friendly pop.
They may be best remembered for their Love Theme for The Return of Godzilla (1984) but He's The One, released the following year, probably gained them the most airtime.
The opening for rare pilot episode of THE ONE WHO LOVES JUSTICE: MOONLIGHT MASK (Knack; 1972)! He looks somewhat different here!
I believe this is the version of the theme song that was sung by Kiyotaka Mitsugi (LIGHT SPEED ESPER) I heard years ago!
I've been trying to get @studiosupesart and @NewNicTomahawk into this one...
It's the Avengers by way of the King Features Sunday Comic Strip characters! Fun stuff!
Created by Flint Dille, who wrote 7 of its 13 episodes, the series blends Dungeons & Dragons-style fantasy with comedy. It may look dark, but it's surprisingly funny.
If you're after lighthearted medieval fantasy adventure, Visionaries is a perfect pick! 3/3
An underrated series and toy line, Visionaries suffered mainly from debuting in an already saturated toy market. Its gimmick (shared with fellow newcomer Supernaturals) was the use of holograms on the characters' armor and staffs. The packaging also featured stunning artwork: 2/3
VISIONARIES (1987) When a planetary alignment extinguishes technology across the planet Prysmos, an age of magic begins. Society collapses into medieval feudalism as the heroic Spectral Knights clash with the scheming Darkling Lords, both manipulated by the wizard Merklynn! 1/3
