At last, the first official teaser for my original kaiju project, REKIRA THE SUPER-MONSTER! Animated in Blender.
And yes, that's Rekira's new original roar (which was completed last year, after 15 years in the making)!

Go Nagai's Machinesaurer (left) vs. the evil Death-Cross! A promotion done by Tsuburaya Productions, I believe, for the magnetic toys based on Nagai's manga.
I still love this series! Wonderful characters, charming voice acting, memorable theme song, and iconic character designs by Stephen Silver, one of my favorite designers!
The crab monster Kanix wreaks havoc in an episode of Osamu Tezuka's AMBASSADOR MAGMA (P-Productions; 1966)! The series' 60th Anniversary is on Independence Day of next month!
(Look carefully for the logo of the series sponsor, Lotte, on one of the buildings!)
@FountainCartoon This was no doubt from when mainstream American animation was going for a Disney feel, even though the product itself is the furthest thing from Disney!
Footage from DOGORA (Toho; 1964), along with the footage I posted before, which is unused footage, featured in the great video special, TOHO UNUSED SFX COMPLETE COLLECTION (Toho Video; 1986)!
"Liquid Television" deserves more recognition during this current indie animation boom. One short film showcased on the program was "Technological Threat" by Bill Kroyer, Rich Moore, and Brian Jennings. It is a great cartoon that should be relevant today in an age of AI fears.
Destoroyah's base form, the Micro Form, is never actually shown onscreen in 「Godzilla vs. Destoroyah」, though official artwork of its design appears in reference books. The smallest form shown in the film is the Crawl Form, which is considerably larger than the Micro Form.
THE ORIGIN OF ULTRAMAN will make its international premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 17.
The 60th-anniversary documentary brings the creation, legacy, and cultural impact of the original Ultraman to the global stage.
On this special day marking 60 years since its original airing, the festival will also screen ULTRAMAN’s first episode, “Ultra Operation No. 1.”
@eBkRbXJi7DaA9p3 Tomio Sagisu would’ve been too obscure in the US… (even though AMBASSADOR MAGMA, SPECTREMAN, and the first episode of LION MARU were brought here.)
I figured someone, even in Japan, would wonder why Guillermo del Toro dedicated PACIFIC RIM to Ray Harryhausen and Ishiro Honda, but leave out Eiji Tsuburaya, who, like Harryhausen, was the special effects and monster guy for Honda’s films!
This is the best version of King Ghidorah throughout Japan’s Heisei dynasty! No other version in that timeframe comes close. It’s too bad Godzilla never fought this one. (The 1999-2000 Godzilla would’ve made a great fit.)
From REBIRTH OF MOTHRA 3 (Toho; 1998).
