Sports will always break your heart at some point but this is next level and never should have happened. I feel, as always, for the A’s longtime, dedicated employees, and their amazing fans. What a dreadful day for baseball.
John Fisher, an heir to The Gap fortune, is being handed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to screw over Oakland baseball fans by moving his team to Las Vegas, @mehil writes.

He’s shown contempt for players with bad-faith negotiating. He’s shown contempt for the game itself by calling the World Series trophy a hunk of metal. But the one group a commissioner can never address with sneering contempt is the fans. And he just crossed that line. #strike3
June 13th was for us.
It was the purest form of love for the sport and for Oakland.
The fact that this little sad man doesn't get it is a further indictment of his and his league's cruelty and cretinism.
The definition of punching down. And why I bet that 27k “average crowd” is done with MLB. How any adult, much less a lawyer, can act like this is beyond me. Time for the antitrust exemption to go (though that was true in Flood).
@CaseyPrattABC7 There is also no legitimate reason to dance on someone’s grave. Even if only that “average crowd” reads this statement, that’s probably 27k people done with mlb.
BREAKING: John Fisher had all of this to say about the #ReverseBoycott last night.
Per reports, Fisher said he "had something he had to do" when approached at the MLB owners' meetings today, then returned to the building with a drink.
