You cannot trust @squarespace
with your data / money. Their cyber security practices are appalling & their customer service or privacy support is non-existent. Use them at your peril. They ignore you entirely if you make lawful data privacy requests. Zero replies. Appalling.
@Wise You don't get to 'invent' new fees on the fly to punish your customers who never signed up to "dynamic charges"
This is the banking equivalent of surge pricing, you are gouging, and you are doing it to people who have no choice but to pay if they ever want their money back.
@Wise Your marketing led us to believe that your 'standard fee' was all that would be charged over & above the market rate.
You created an additional new fee that is 466% higher than the standard fee, gave it a fancy name & wrote an 'article' about it in an attempt to legitimise it.
@Wise You created this new 'fee' in august of last year, and kept it a secret until you could roll it out when people are trying to get access to their money in times of volatility. It's a scam. No matter how many 'articles' you write, it's still a scam.
@Wise@9650kuro Dynamic charges are a scam and a #ransom and @wise know it, which is why they are gaslighting to the extreme when being questioned.
They also seem to have conveniently forgotten their own pricing promises.
@Wise Dynamic charges are a scam. And you know it. And everything you've said about it when questioned proves that it's a scam.
Show us a screenshot of an example of when dynamic charges can somehow work as a credit to make a conversion 'cheaper' as per the article you've shared.
To respond to volatile markets, @Wise has created an ADDITIONAL and new "dynamic charges" fee of $487 dollars which they charge ON TOP of the standard $94 dollar fee for my regular transfer.
It's a 518% fine for trying to access your money.
Do not trust @Wise with your money.
@9650kuro@Wise "Dynamic charges" is a #ransom.
@wise is behaving like mafia. Don't trust them with your money. You'll never get it back without paying HUGE made-up fees that you never agreed to when signing up.
And when you question them on it, they make up stories and try to gaslight you.
@Wise No.
The rate is the currency conversion happening in real time.
The fee is the fee you charge for the service.
The "dynamic charges" is a #ransom@wise put on customers who want to withdraw their funds that they made the mistake of trusting @Wise with.
@Wise So... if what you say is true, and this 'charge' can also result in a decreased price, would this new 'dynamic charges' fee appear as a line item credit and be renamed to "dynamic credit" ?
It seems not...
It seems like marketing babble for "How can @wise screw the customer?"
@Wise@taavet
I don't imagine this is what you planned when you founded @Wise all those years ago?
"Dynamic charges" seems contra to Wise's promise/premise of fairness and transparency.
I remember you as a man who was passionately on the side of your customers.
What happened?
@Wise At least the regular banks look us in the eye when they take aim at us.
A regular bank probably wouldn't get away with creating a magic un-agreed-to "dynamic charges" fee that increases their regular conversion/transfer fee by ~466%. Don't agree? You can't have your $, ever..
Frank Herbert died when I was 4.
I am ten times older than I was then, and I often wonder what he would think of this world we have created. I don’t think he would like it…
#ChatGPT has some distance to travel yet before we should be trusting it to write our essays. Don't get me wrong, I love it and it's amazing, but please remember that it mixes truth with crap quite a lot, and that's dangerous, because the crap can be hard to detect.
