Been going through the mplsoccer code trying to expand my abilities. Here are some vizzes for the Houston Seattle game tonight! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated…especially if anyone knows why Inter Miami is so small (prolly punishment for the 5 DPs)
@TheBlueFrontier We finished bottom 1/2 & developed 2ish new signings, that’s not success. WHU & Spurs feel emblematic of our trajectory. Buying expensive players w no resale or youngsters w no view to develop them is a great 5yr plan for getting to the championship, not the champions league.
@TacticallyMatt Marcelino is leaving Villarreal, he’d be the top of my list. Think there were reports of Inigo Perez replacing him, if I’m wrong then Perez would be very interesting imo.
@TheBlueFrontier Hard to walk away pointless. If the first goal stands, Ndiaye stays left, or the ref is even semi-competent then that’s a very different game. We need new ideas w subs, the current plan isn’t enough. Hope Beto & JB are back soon, else it’s hard to see Europe staying in reach.
@TheBlueFrontier Painful watch to say the least, we were totally bereft of ideas. Aznou, the only bright spot, arguably showed more attacking impetuous in that cameo alone than Myko has in 4yrs w the club. Hopefully Moyes gives Aznou more time going forward.
@RyanSoccerAA It’s confusing to me. If Grealish was signed with the goal of finishing as high up the table as possible, why aren’t we making the necessary accompanying signings to follow through on that goal? Seems like it’d be pretty hard to push for Europe without a right side.
@RyanSoccerAA This just wreaks of not having a fully fleshed out plan coming into the window. As much as I’ve liked the Aznou & Barry transfers, this is feeling a little too “early days at Roma” for me. Even if this all for “winning now” it’s still a disappointing effort by the committee
@RyanSoccerAA I keep coming back to: what is the end goal & when can we expect to get there? If we aren’t planning on Europe this season, why would we get peak or post-peak players? IMO If the goal is to challenge for Europe in 2yrs, get players who will be entering their peak at that time
@alfie__03 If I recall, Pep notoriously worked with Messi on positioning and movement when he first took over as manager. I would think would have a lot of overlap/include his decision making.
@EuroExpert_ Regardless of how likely or unlikely Ricci moving to Everton is, I think you’re spot in this being a key area for Everton to strengthen. This would be some move to show how serious the Friedkins are about the club
@EuroExpert_ Got to be a creative 8 for me. Argument could be made for a 10, but given Ndiaye can & very well may play there eventually, a creative 8 is a gap we have now and will need to fill regardless.
@EuroExpert_ IMO RW & either fullback are valid answers, but I think the team would benefit the most from a creative passer. Doesn’t matter whether they are a RW, FB, or CM, someone you can break the lines and find runners improves this team more than anything else.
@TheBlueFrontier Great to see us get a W & score some goals. Crazy how playing just a little less direct improved so many guys. Gana, Ndiaye, Lindy, & DCL all impressive, JO’B might even be serviceable at RB too. Nervy finish a good reminder that the fight isn’t over, but we can build off this
@ZacDjellab He all but resigned according to the Athletic & apparently TFG wanted him there until the summer. I think it would‘be been fair to move on from him regardless, but it seems reasonable to let go of a coach when they admit to having taken the team as far as they could.
@RyanSoccerAA@mixedknuts I understand holding him in high regard for his performance last season, I think it’s deserved. I struggle understanding this take this season. Especially when many players weren’t used in the role they were signed for, I don’t think Dyche was doing himself any favors.
