We often view SATS week as a very stressful time for children, schools and families.
By taking action and supporting each other, you can make things a lot easier for your children and yourself

Mental Health Awareness Week is here! 💙
This year, it’s all about coming together for mental health through our communities.
So what's coming up? Well, across the week we’ll be sharing real stories, honest conversations, and expert perspectives that remind us how powerful it is to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Being part of a positive community is good for mental wellbeing — it helps us to belong, feel supported, and sometimes even find purpose. Join us this week in celebrating our communities, because access to mental health care should never be out of reach.

Inside Out 2 shows us how emotions all play a part in our inner world. They might feel overwhelming at times, but understanding the unique purpose of each emotion helps us to grow and develop our emotional landscape.
✨ Remember, it’s okay to experience a mix of emotions—it’s part of what makes us who we are.
🔄 Which emotion do you connect with the most? Let us know in the comments!

"It reassured me that I’m not alone, and that’s how I found different ways to cope."
Today, on the first day of Children’s Mental Health Week, we’re sharing Caua’s story - a journey of learning to manage stress, building confidence, and discovering new ways to cope.
Knowing yourself is the first step to growing yourself, and having a safe space to talk can make all the difference.
Keeping our users safe is our top priority; you can find out more about how we do this here: https://t.co/89Jqie7NFc

Young people may have more time on their hands during the long summer break. For many, that can mean more time spent online or on social media, which can have a negative impact on their mental and emotional well-being.
Our #GoSomewhereGood campaign aims to promote positive activities and 'good places to go' instead. Well, this summer, we're on a mission to inspire young people to break free from the endless scroll.
For 50 days straight, we're giving away incredible prizes like custom-designed skateboards, brand new ‘Bog Man’ apparel, 'So Good' merchandise, and vouchers!

For Mental Health Awareness week (Monday 13th May 2024 to Sunday 19th May 2024) this year the focus is on "Movement: Moving more for our mental health". To highlight this Darlington Mind is supporting the Bear Trail around Darlington Town centre.
For Day 2 of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, why is Movement important?
Exercise releases “feel good” hormones, that reduce feelings of stress and anger. It also helps us feel better about our bodies. It can improve our sleep too.
Why not give it a try?
Professor Dame Sue Bailey: Tackling mental health inequalities 🎙
We recently spoke to Prof Dame Sue Bailey OBE DBE FRCPsych about health inequalities and social determinants of health. As big believers in mental health support for all, it’s critical that we understand these issues while finding every way possible to raise awareness of our service so that no-one is alone and struggling with their mental health.
To illustrate the issue, Sue, who travels to work by tram, told us that her life expectancy is four years more than a woman of her age living at the other end of the tram line. The fact is that there are systematic, unfair, and avoidable differences in health across the population, but also between different groups within society.
In this video, Sue describes how some communities are often poorly heard, the importance of early support and the tough task of commissioners in helping lift people out of health inequality.
