Meet the world's largest all-electric ferry out for delivery in 2025:
It has capacity for 2,100 passengers & 225 cars.
Batteries can store >40MWh & will be 4x larger than any battery installation that has been constructed anywhere in the world for marine transport.
Range will be up to 100 n.m.

A 🌞 Solar and 🐟 Fish Farm
The world's first gigawatt-scale offshore solar project has been connected to the grid in Shandong Province, 🇨🇳 China, and it's also a 🐟🎣 fish farm.
At 1 GW and a capacity factor of ~20%, the project is expected to generate about 1.8 TWh of electricity annually, displacing over half a million tonnes of coal from the mix.
The panels are mounted on steel truss platforms that are fixed to the sea bed with steel piles.
It's combining solar PV with fish farming. The steel framework below the surface will be used to house fish farms, enhancing the utilization of the area.
We have the solutions and just need to implement them.
This is what I keep thinking about. We published this in @ObserverUK on Dec 4, 2016. The very first visualisation of the ‘fake news ecosystem’ - a new coinage & concept - created @d1gi . It showed mainstream media being strangled. Imagine how it looks now…
Whether it's Tim Walz expanding his state's school lunch program or Matt Gaetz giving cocaine and Ecstasy to underage sex workers, both sides have taken controversial approaches towards feeding children.
A new state-of-the-art EV battery recycling plant, the first of its kind in the UK, has been unveiled in Plymouth
Madness - has no one told them that EV batteries can't be recyled??

The Fehmarnbelt tunnel will set world records when it opens in 2029. It will be the longest road plus rail tunnel and the longest underwater road tunnel. It will replace a 45 minute ferry with a 10 minute drive and shorten the Copenhagen to Hamburg rail journey by 2+ hours.
Arcane's budget is certainly very high, but given the quality produced, it could also be compared to the budgets of animated films.
So, per minute of animation, Arcane cost 3 times less than Spider-Verse, and 4 times less than a Pixar film.
Starmer's 81% carbon target for 2035 has some people invoking various terrors about what that means.
Here's what his independent advisers suggest he prioritise. 2 key ones are making electricity cheaper & making landlords stop renting out draughty homes
Housing. It's all about housing.
Make housing so unaffordable people are still living in houseshares (or with parents!) in their 30s, and where are they going to raise the babies you want them to have?

If people tell you gen AI is a tool rather than a replacement for human creativity, show them this new data from Harvard Business Review:
- ChatGPT reduced writing jobs by 30% and coding jobs by 20%
- AI image generators reduced image creation jobs by 17%
- These numbers are not rebounding
- The effect is bigger and faster than with other forms of automation
It’s self-evident that generative AI competes with the work it’s trained on, and the people behind that work. But there is now a growing body of evidence to support this.

Netflix built a $300 billion business by making TV available on-demand.
Now it's producing live programs.
I spent a few weeks talking to the people involved to better understand its ambitions.

It took 68 years for the world to reach 1 terawatt of solar PV capacity. It took just two years to double it.
