Right Fascism and Left Collectivism have proven to be utterly, entirely ruinous for all but a select few. Their record is universally one of capricious violence, arbitrary destruction, and cruel oppression.
If you can't agree on that w/out caveats or qualifiers, fuck right off.
@jmeuse45@Nate_Tice Watching their protection plan every week + what sure feels like a 2016 offensive approach + overall lack of crispness with spacing has my head HOT.
Maye has been #bad but everything is hard and broken right now and the offense is doing nothing to fake some weight off him.
@ChachbagCapital@PurpyNFL Peterson is on the Mt Rushmore of “eye test” players. His Oklahoma stuff is preposterous, like the easiest player to scout ever.
Just a ridiculously incorrect and arrogant take by that guy. Being wrong isn’t the issue, it’s the smugness that leaps off the screen.
@Nate_Tice Maye strikes me as a player stuck between playing his natural game (step on the gas, which comes with some bozo moments) vs trying to be outright cautious.
“Disciplined” is somewhere in the middle but he hasn’t calibrated for that yet. Does that feel right?
@adaptskill@extramicrowave Back in the day the best we had was James Light posting Zapruder-style practice reps of Revis or a bootleg 2010 Callahan coaching clinic filmed thru a happy meal camera.
More volume = more junk, but also a lot more to learn from if you’re willing to take some criticism.
@cmikesspinmove SEA beat up our protection calls again 😭
Actually thought NEP blocked things up *decently* from a physical pass pro standpoint. The players did OK or in some cases good-ish.
But tactics-wise, wasn’t close. Nowhere near enough answers from McDaniels.
@tkyles39 Did OK vs corner blitz from depth but still felt like their protection rules were consistently picked on + they did not help themselves doing things like cutting the ends on non-quick game concepts?
Better than SB certainly but that bar is hilariously low
@cmikesspinmove Would assume they want to continue living out of nickel to match 21P until/unless NEP shows they can do *literally anything vaguely productive* from it?
21 was pointless for NEP last year. On paper, would help unlock things if it can be more than pure larp + Gilliam should help.
@Jim_hebert628@_AndrewCallahan@TheRealGresh Well put. Too many people ignoring the second and third order effects of beating up your best players when their peers are getting paid. Casts a cloud over the locker room.
The way they won 20 years ago is over.
@edwardstevens16 I think you would concede that last sentence is doing heavy, heavy lifting. Cap jumps $20mm + a year, the bill has never been more flexible for teams willing to be proactive and aggressive. Imo the idea that a bumper deal for Gonzalez makes Maye impossible is flawed. We will see!
@edwardstevens16@bpothier@GregABedard I agree this isn’t Vrabel’s fault, just making a broader statement that the whole good vibes, build a family, retain our guys schtick rings hollow if you…don’t retain your guys.
The Krafts have done a lot of good but this negotiation is embarrassing imo.
@Thecolours@GregABedard The Gronk deal from 15 years ago is what team wants. Total $ looks big but in actuality is *very* team friendly.
IMO understandably, savvy players/agents aren’t interested in those deals. They want a pay raise right now, not in two years.
@Thecolours@GregABedard Witherspoon gets more gtd money and sooner. NEP wants to push out $ and under terms that are ez for them to walk from.
It’s BS money that cynically, but truthfully, lets them claim “highest paid cb in ball” in overall $. Player wants real, upfront cash flow.
