THE SHOCK DOCTRINE
Fair warning that in times of great disruption (eg Coldcard exploit), factions with ulterior motives inevitably use the opening to strike.
• They will use this to promote paper Bitcoin.
• They will use this to jam shitcoins onto Bitcoin.
• They will use this to claim self-custody is "too risky."
Don't fall for it. Bitcoin is money. Self-custody works, and it IS worth learning.
Stay sovereign. Be a Bitcoiner.
Bitcoin Red Team update: we've grown to 16 globally distributed people working 24/7
We're running a large-scale ecosystem security audit across bitcoin code bases.
27.5 hours in, we've filed 4,962 findings across 390 projects. 85 critical and 635 high severity issues.
We're at 2.31 h+c findings per person per hour
Bitcoin Twitter coming together during the dark moments is unmatched.
The Coldcard exploit is an absolute nightmare, but watching this community rally to support each other proves one thing:
We are relentless. We adapt. We persevere.
@Mandrik Does anyone know if dice rolling continues to scale after 100 rolls or is it capped at 256 bit entropy for devices like seedsigner? Like if I do 500 or 1000 rolls, is that counterproductive (other than time spent)?
red teaming bitcoin:
- we’ve written multiple harnesses and we’re launching a huge wave of reviews against many core bitcoin projects: crypto libs, wallets, infra, …
- situation is extremely bad.
- we’re averaging on the order of 1 critical exploit per hour per person.
- we’ve reported critical vulnerabilities to several projects in the last 12 hrs.
- thankfully this is a very expensive exercise, we’re burning through 10k per day.
- you can donate tokens or accounts. send me a dm.
- thank you to @OpenSats for covering the bill.
- thank you to @Kimi_Moonshot and Kimi K3 for providing us with accounts and uncensored intelligence
