Your "friendship" with Argentina is temporary. All international relations are built upon national interests and convenience. Spurning British conservatives makes no sense when you absolutely know you will be asking them for cooperation when they regain power.

There are no functional, permanently poor people in America.

Even the working classes drive new trucks, have the latest iPhones, and enjoy other aspects of mass affluence.

There are those who suffer poverty momentarily because of bad circumstances, but to be poor for life, or worse, over many generations, is a result of deep dysfunction, so much so that even if they are gifted a large sum of money they will be poor again (remember how lottery winners or retired professional atheletes turn out).

That is of course a human tragedy and I don't post it to make light, but to make the following point:

If the underclasses of America are marked by low function and low intelligence, how is a class-conscious, leftist movement supposed to work here?

So far the DSA is mostly appealing to the downwardly mobile laptop class.

Once they're satiated, there's not much more room to move leftward, maybe aside from government funded health care and college (which is a centrist policy in sane countries, anyway).
