I have a 10 year old Model X 144,000 miles 240km battery is at 88% service cost over 10 years is next to nothing (less than 300 pounds total but the car is in China) excepting tyres, I am on my 3rd set. Will keep it as a run around for family as it has free supercharging for life and is still a safe, capable, great to drive car
There is no pile of gold for easy distribution. The value is in production, employment. Even looking at the share price of the various Musk companies, a good proportion of that price is an expectation of future progress and potential success. I understand that people have different views about Elon and you are all entitled to them but making poor arguments diminishes the effect when you have a useful and carefully considered point to make.
I appreciate that the current combination of FSD supervised and hardware does not offer the service under certain road and driving conditions. This is a massive positive, because as human beings we sometimes mistake confidence with competence and take more risk than we realise. This leads to us exposing both ourselves and other road users to avoidable risk and possible consequences.
I appreciate a system that says my competencies are limited in these conditions and should not/cannot be relied upon at this time. That is a feature not a bug.
Future versions of FSD will broaden the usage window. ๐ช am not an autonomy engineer but I see clear evidence that FSD is improving fast and believe we will see a meaningful reduction in fatalities both for Tesla FSD users and other users of the same roads.
