Our neighborhoods are strongest when we work together and collaborate on the issues we face – rather than focusing on zero-sum politics, backroom deals, and political “gotchas” https://t.co/WSUsDrSNUO via @coloradosun#coleg#denver#copolitics#denvercity
@PortiaPrescott of the NAACP and I discuss how Congress can balance privacy protections with the needs of small businesses.
Digital advertising is crucial for small and minority-owned businesses. @internet4growth
"Speaking from experience, we know the potential digital advertising has for marginalized communities — which gives us the ability to compete directly with big businesses in a cost-effective way" write @PortiaPrescott and @Andrew_Short in @NewslineCO. Anti-advertising legislation like the American Privacy Rights Act and AMERICA Act in Congress would dismantle online tools helping minority-owned businesses succeed.
Joined @FoxNews this week to talk about @JoeBiden's incredible record of job creation, our Democratic record unemployment in communities across the state, and the disarray Trump's causing in the Republican Party.
Folks, we're gonna win this election. #copolitics
Proud to stand with my colleagues in support of @RepWeinberg. He’s right, Colorado needs us all to work together to effectively do the people’s work. Solving big problems requires collaboration among people with diverse perspectives. #copolitics#coleg
So, let me get this straight: yesterday the Supreme Court ruled colleges CAN’T discriminate on the basis of race but today they ruled that a web designer CAN discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community? Sorry, but this Court is so freaking messed up.
First, they overturned the right to an abortion. Next they dismantled affirmative action. And now, they’re saying it’s okay for ALL businesses to refuse service to the LGBTQ+ community. They’re messing around with our lives & we will make them find out.
To recap: the Supreme Court overturned the right to an abortion, dismantled affirmative action, said ALL businesses can deny service to the LGBTQ+ community, & struck down President Biden's student forgiveness program. ALL IN ONE YEAR. You bet Gen Z is pissed off.
The next phase of Casa Bonita's long-awaited reopening is finally here, and it starts Friday. However, most people will still have to wait a bit longer to finally get inside. https://t.co/C7LctK4Pf0
🧵 A new report from @lgbtmap lists CO as 1 of the top two states at the lowest risk for election denialism in the country. That’s thanks in large part to the work my office has done to protect our elections and build trust in our democracy.
Meet our transition co-chair Sen. Julie Gonzales!
@SenadoraJulie represents north, west, and downtown Denver. She helped build the movement to defend & advance immigrant rights across Colorado, and has been at the forefront of issues like housing and immigration at the Capitol.
Do I have this right...the same Republicans in Congress who constantly lament about "law and order" don't want one of the most powerful men in the country to be held accountable for jeopardizing national security?
Major win for immigrant rights in Colorado, which has just become the 7th state to ban local governments from jailing people on ICE’s behalf.
Many, incl. a longtime top ICE official, say they expect this will reduce overall ICE enforcement in the region. https://t.co/Q2KHVMupwt
We're thrilled to announce Denver Water's next CEO/Manager will be Alan Salazar! He's set to replace Jim Lochhead Aug. 7, 2023. https://t.co/zjORKwfT3P
Thank you, Denver!
This campaign was about having a big vision for what is possible for Denver. Now, thanks to your support and commitment and passion for our city, we get to make that vision a reality.
This is our dream, this is our Denver, now let’s go build it together.
WalletHub is reporting what we all know, that Colorado has one of the best economies in the country.
