Ráðfastr, Blade of Defiance. An ancient blade passed through generations. Forged by the Vrykul of old, this blade faithfully cleaves the foes of Humanity. #fanart#worldofwarcraft
Every time I see an actual depiction of what happened to Him I get nauseous and am reminded that I am an evil, degenerate, retarded sinner unworthy of salvation- yet he still did this for me
If we all got what we deserved we’d all be in a lot of trouble
People say that the twitter discourse is bad and negative....I actually love it:
- WNBA is getting ridiculed by everyone because now even dudes can be part of it
- Wolverine is getting mocked by everyone and its making its shitty devs sad
- Gamers agree that GTA has shitty anti consumer practices and rightfully calling it out
- Fire Emblem FW has all dudes just be into women
- Gears of War E-Day makes a distinction between male and female
- Tides of Annihilation is looking better than Western gaming slop and has a bunch of sexualized chicks and cool fights
- Marvel Rivals dropped like 4 sexualized skins for female characters in one day
- Phantom Blade Zero is looking awesome and a sign that Asian gaming continues to be on top
- The CEO of Saber Interactive is a chud who mocked a retarded writer and they're developing several big upcoming games
- X-Men cast is all white, and the chicks are all good looking (because of internet backlash)
- Disney is dropping the stupidity and has done all-white casting for the Tangled movie (again, thanks to internet backlash)
- Bunch of Western devs have been getting fired
- Marty O'Donnell has been filtering homos and freaks out of the Halo community 🔥
Twitter discourse does wonderful things
@Grummz I think you're being too hard on the multi billion dollar company with unlimited budget and massive teams. That kind of progress is only possible with 5 nerds in a basement.
@Oddloaf1@MachDominus In all fairness, the event we have been witnessing just proved that we were right to beat their asses during the first galactic war.
They deserve what they got, and they deserve what is coming next.
Now, traitor, if you feel mercy for aliens killing babies, the wall is there.
He’s completely right.
This is what slowed down the Warcraft movie.
We pitched it for many years and demanded a say and control.
Nobody in Hollywood wanted to do that. Everybody wanted to do their own thing.
You end up with skinsuit movies, wrapped lazily around the IP.
Blizzard was a game developer that was so popular that they used to have their own annual ComicCon style convention where fans from all over the world would come to meet the developers of their favorite games and learn what new stuff was coming.
Then, an unhappy faction who didn’t like the “frat house” atmosphere made a bunch of largely false allegations at the height of #MeToo. Lawyers were brought in to investigate, and they found email chains discussing the “Cosby Suite,” which was the hospitality suite at the convention hotel that Blizzard developers named for its carpets that looked like a Bill Cosby sweater.
These emails were from years before Cosby’s sexual assault conviction, but they were considered damning at the time and it was insinuated in the media that the men on the email chain were committing rape in the “Cosby Suite,” entirely because of the name.
Everyone on the email chain — men who had worked at Blizzard for decades and built the Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft franchises — were fired in disgrace over this.
Alex Afrasiabi had his name stripped out of World of Warcraft. An Overwatch character named after veteran Blizzard developer Jesse McCree was renamed in the game. These guys did absolutely nothing wrong except joke with their friends in emails they never expected to be exposed as part of a witch hunt.
In the wake of the mass firings of veterans game designers, the entire culture of Blizzard changed as an institution, and the games changed too — for the worse. “World of Warcraft” became a cozy fantasy coffee shop game. “Overwatch” became a gay pride game. Nobody would go to a convention these days to celebrate these games or the people who now work on them.
The false sexual assault allegations were a pretense for a crowd of disgruntled nonbinary weirdos to seize the greatest game studio in the United States, but without the people they purged and replaced, they could not uphold Blizzard’s once legendary standard of quality and the studio collapsed into irrelevance.
When you see gamers celebrating mass layoffs at game studios, it is because things like this happened across the gaming industry. The hobby was conquered and transformed by people who believed gaming needed to change. But they changed it into something nobody wants to pay for, and now they’re all losing their jobs.
jason schreier made up a story about employees drinking boobie milk and now my comfort game is being used like a prom night whore as an outlet for repressed millennial cat moms
- Layoffs at Halo Studios start today
- Fired Bethesda devs are yelling into the void
- EA is getting ready for layoffs
- Bungie got gutted in June
- Shitty artsy studios at Xbox got kicked out
- Ubisoft killed a studio in Canada
....and it's only starting
SHOULD HAVE LEFT MY GAMES ALONE!
If Jason is so confident in his "truth" he should name names and cite exactly what they did.
I'm sure it would all hold up and not be slander and libel right? He can't get sued if they are true facts.
Oh wait, he only named 2 names that were in the CA lawsuit against Blizzard? Claims that were subsequently dropped by the State as reported by the NYT?
Instead we get a lot of "people said" and "it was well known" and a lot of vague posting. Hmmmm!
This is the OG WoW team.
Journalists and grifters really did them dirty.
This is the real story.
This was not a "frat house run amok" as they want you to belief.
I should know. I was the Team Lead. Every HR incident would have to cross my desk. (I'm on the left, holding out the champagne bottle from the launch celebration).
None of them were SA or even "Frat Boy" style incidents (we did have one GDC drinking binge that ended up with flooding a hotel room and getting the company banned, but there were no women involved nor anyone harmed). So many articles were written that claimed Blizzard was a haven for some kind of "wild" and out of control environment. They are wrong.
Instead what we were was a group of geeks, many of us socially awkward, all of us with a passion for games and absolutely driven to make the best game we could.
"Frat Boys" would have stuffed us in lockers and given us swirlies.
We worked hard, we were gamers, geeks, nerds. Many were married, with kids, or starting families. Many others were extremely shy, and introverted. We worked really long hours, but that's kinda what it takes to accomplish the exceptional.
I know it's popular to paint OG gamers (and even DnD players/creators) as some sort of toxic group that pushed out women and minorities. But that's a lie. That's the narrative they use to explain why teams were majority men back then. They were men because women wanted nothing to do with games (until it became popular in culture).
We would have loved to see more women interested in what we were doing, and we would not cared if they wanted to join the team. There was only one requirement: You had to be a gamer and passionate about making games and have the skills to back it up.
We were the quiet, awkward nerds who were driven to excellence.
It is such a terrible wrong to paint this team as some sort of menace to women. It's sad that this is the legacy people want to force on not just Blizzard, but all the OG teams from other companies that defined the IPs that carry gaming even today. They were all attacked. They want to destroy the past, tell a false history, so they can supplant it with their modern agenda (and people).
It was done for clicks. It was done for money. It was done for clout.
But when you point that out, they just call you a "woman hating grifter".
All they do is lie and project.
