Researched this a long time ago. Here is what I found.
Here are the facts: First of all this was a CIVIL case, not a criminal case. This case was never even supposed to happen but the New York concocted the Adult Survivors Act (ASA) to bypass the statute of limitations. E. Jean Carroll’s case was filed on November 24, 2022, the very day the ASA window opened. The ASA was only valid for a period of one year. Her legal fees for her lawsuits against Donald Trump were primarily funded by Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn and a prominent Democratic donor. Anyone with even a few synapses realized that this was specifically enacted to go after Trump. Lawfare.
Now let us go into the facts. Carroll has always placed the incident in the mid-1990s but took 27 years to do something about it. Never filed a police report. She never told anyone about it, despite being publicly obsessed with her own sexuality. Just when Trump was running for president again. She announced this just 3 days after Trump said he was running for president.. Carroll said the incident occurred in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room off the lingerie area. Trial testimony from a former manager described the 6th floor layout (lingerie/couture/designer sportswear) and he noted it wasn’t a busy floor and stated such an assault would have been noticed.
Court filings said male DNA was detected on the dress sleeves (not identified as Trump). Trump’s defense made an offer to provide a sample in Feb. 2023. Judge Kaplan rejected it as too late in discovery. This is the same judge who refused to delay the E. Jean Carroll trial for Melania’s mother’s funeral
The 9-person jury in May 2023 rejected “rape” as defined by New York’s specific statute used in the charge. Yes despite a jury from a city that had 76% votes for Joe Biden in 2020. Yeah real fair jury…not. ABC/Stephanopoulos were sued by Trump for this false claim of rape. It cost them $15 million and they were required to pay $1 million for his legal fees.
A few more tidbits: The dress she claims to have been wearing didn’t exist at the time. Her description of the dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman was inaccurate, making her sequence of events impossible. She has a history of falsely accusing men of rape (7 in total) , including Les Moonves. She told Anderson Cooper, “most people think of rape as being sexy. Think of the fantasies”. She made a career promoting promiscuity, even writing glowingly of sexual assault and naming her cat after female genitals.
Dear Mr. @realDonaldTrump
The regime in Iran is lying to you and your negotiators (period, stop!). Do not believe a word they say. I know you want to get out of this mess. All Americans want this unnecessary war to end. Keep in mind, as you have been told many times, Iran is still the leading state sponsor of terrorism (all anyone needs to say is Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis, never mind IRGC-QF). None of these organizations are going away with this deal.
How about getting them to first publicly apologize for killing American Soldiers and U.S. Marines many times over (especially on this Memorial Day weekend). Yes, we are all sick of it.
And yes, the people of Iran must step up, but we need to signal to them, we will not concede their freedoms to the insane regime in Teheran. They deserve better. If we don’t, we will cause an entire population to be enslaved. For this, we have to smartly use our Middle East partners to support them along with our covert and clandestine operators. Trust me, if you support, this is very doable.
Anyway, I’m watching everything (like most of the world is) and admittedly I do not have all the information. But if we pay tribute to the regime to the tune of $25B, I’m concerned they’ll use it for nefarious purposes down the road.
No nukes in Iran may be a noble idea (an end goal for your administration) but the regime has blatantly lied to our faces before, why do you now believe they will tell you the truth?
Give it some thought. Get some out of the box solutions, and rethink your position. The art of the deal tells you to do that from time to time.
Now may be that time.
