@Mattyryan2k@HalSidereal@Rainmaker1973 To Pimp a Butterfly is the most critically acclaimed rap album of all time and the most critically acclaimed album of any genre in the 21st century (https://t.co/8c2dmXdP7G). And non-critics agreed on average, according to the main post here. Far from flavor of the month.
@Mattyryan2k@HalSidereal@Rainmaker1973 Harry, 48 of the 50 albums are from the 50 years before 2010, so I’d say those are pretty well-represented. I love the artists you named too. If you can’t think of a song by Kendrick, then there are tons of great songs by recent artists for you to discover, and I hope you do.
@Mattyryan2k@HalSidereal@Rainmaker1973 Out of all the arguments you could have made, you might have picked the worst one. Of the 50 albums on the list, those are the two that get the most play today.
@Tezzathekchen To be fair I’m not sure if this is proof, since most of these are Fed winning off of his opponent’s overhead. And Djokovic has done pretty well despite always losing when he hits an overhead
@cestlaviemacher@huymanutd@atptour Notice the 0 for Federer, whose best result in singles at the Olympics was silver, like Alcaraz. They have not moved the goalposts. Silver is an achievement but has never been considered a Big Title.
@PubliusCoScAf@Big3Tennis Ok, and Nadal won 8 French Opens from 2012-22, and Fed couldn't make it to the final for any of them. They only played once on clay after 2013. Sure, early on it was skewed, but then it evened out. Also, Nadal was fairly successful against Fed off clay early. Fed adjusted later.
@PubliusCoScAf@Big3Tennis Rafa made 52 hard court finals. Fed made 26 clay court finals. And Rafa made 3 straight Wimbledon finals in Fed's prime too. I don't think it's that skewed. It's too bad Fed couldn't convert any of those 4 match points at 2010/11 USO though. Those would have been great matches
@PubliusCoScAf@Big3Tennis You could make the same argument the other way that Federer wasn’t good enough to make finals consistently once Nadal reached his prime on hard. Nadal made 11 hard court Major finals and faced Federer twice (1-1). Federer made 5 French Open finals and faced Nadal 4 times (0-4).
@StraightEdgeIBU @wey_know Maybe - I just don't think it was by much. Sampras lost US Open finals badly to Safin and Hewitt. And all of this is coming from a Nadal fan. 03-07 was definitely weaker than the decade that followed, but Federer still deserves credit for capitalizing and being absurdly dominant.
