Martin Lab members at the ##cshlubiq 2023 meeting! Andy gave a great talk and Santi & Erika presented their 26S proteasome research at the poster sessions. Great science talks, time with colleagues, and lobster! #ourproteincaneatyourprotein#ubiquitin#proteasome
Congratulations to Cameron on his paper on the mechanisms of cdc48's ubiquitin chain requirements and the role of Ufd1 on ubiquitin linkage specificity. Check out his beautiful work here:

I am THRILLED to announce that I will be joining the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Missouri @Mizzou_Biochem as an Assistant Professor in January 2023- Go Tigers!
Congrats to Andy on a successful @HHMINEWS renewal! We were finally able to celebrate all our accomplishments together with some bubbly @berkeleyMCB@UCB_Biophysics
We started a fun project to catalog all our plasmids. Usually, this is very laborious because some are huge and in low copy numbers. Pretty cool though, shout out to @plasmidsaurus for helping me accidentally find an insH10 E. coli transposon insertion outside of my plasmid ORFs!
New preprint alert! Exciting smFRET measurements of the 26S proteasome. โUbiquitin modulates 26S proteasome conformational dynamics and promotes substrate degradation.โ Congrats to authors Erik, Zaw, @JAM_Bard and Ken!

We are so excited to announce that lab member Diego Ramos Ortiz has been awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship! #Congratulations @NSFGRFP #NSF#NSFGRFP
And now it's out ๐! Big thanks to the reviewers and editors @eLife who helped us improve this story about a long-enigmatic herpesvirus protein required for viral genome packaging. @brittaspen@AndyMartinLab@StephanieNGates@lmstrong7 and Matt Gardner

Out now- our review with @kyliejwalters group:
Proteasome interaction with ubiquitinated substrates: from mechanisms to therapies @Ka_Maria21 https://t.co/BjIUEFIepV
Fantastic thread by @DrDidychuk detailing our collaboration with @brittaspenโs lab looking into viral proteins involved in herpesviral genome packaging
Very excited to share some of my work in @brittaspen's lab on an enigmatic protein involved in herpesviral genome packaging, the result of a great collaboration with @AndyMartinLab, @StephanieNGates, @lmstrong7, and the twitterless Matt Gardner. [1/10]

A fantastic collaboration with our lab neighbors, @MarquseeLab, led to the published work of @proteins_emma and @EricRGreene1 - "Site-specific ubiquitination affects protein energetics and proteasomal degradation" https://t.co/COeWhakZ6M
