Samuel L. Jackson says he used to cook and smoke crack cocaine while his daughter slept upstairs.
"If I was in the kitchen cooking cocaine and smoking it... my brain would tell me, 'Zoe's choking in the covers.'"
"I'd run upstairs to check on her, come back down... then my brain would tell me she was choking again."
When asked if he regrets that time in his life, he replied:
"Oh, hell no. I was in great shape... I was the best functioning addict you could ever meet."

Pixies playing “Trompe Le Monde” on Letterman in Feb 1992. This was their US network TV debut. What an amazing, weird song to play, and with the full Letterman band. I count 4 guitars, and Paul and Sid’s solos are bonkers.
Will Ferrell says Anchorman was rejected 20 times, then Old School became a hit and the door opened
“It's a cliche Hollywood story. You hear about movies where no one wanted to make them, no one really understood. And that was kind of our version of that. When we first were going out to studios and finance, over the course of a two-week period of time, we had 20 rejections. Either people with financing or studios themselves who just didn't get why that would be funny”
“We were trying to use the Austin Powers model of, well, no one thought a spy genre would translate to comedy. This is the same for a bunch of news people. These characters are going to be crazy. It's not a narrative about the news”
“It's funny. The one studio where Old School came out, and that was at DreamWorks. Anchorman was just sitting on the shelf. Then Old School came out, became a big hit, and they were like, ‘Wait, we always liked Anchorman, now we'll make it’”
