This should not be happening in the United States in 2026. People are contracting #measles b/c they’re unvaccinated and our current anti-science gov’t is at fault.
US measles cases continue to climb, topping 3,600
Today, the CDC reported 171 new confirmed measles cases, bringing the year’s total to 3,659.

With climate change and urbanization both factors favor Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, this means diseases like dengue, Chikungunya, Zika could become our new normal in urban areas of South Florida and Southeast Texas, including Houston. The “lights out” scenario is if yellow fever returns. We have zero pandemic preparedness for that one. My @nejm paper on that attached.
PMC COVlD Update
Sept 14, 2026
The US has at least 34 states/territories with COVlD outbreaks. These include Alaska, Hawai’i, Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Maine.
There are likely outbreaks in additional states. The summary statistic of 34 only includes counties with observed data, rather than estimated data. For example, Louisiana and Idaho likely have outbreaks, but monitoring is poor.

Ectopic pregnancy deaths have nearly doubled in post-Roe America. The rates are even worse in states with abortion bans.
When we warned them women would die, they didn't listen.
This was preventable.

Georgia audited its own data center tax breaks and found that the state gave up $474 million in sales taxes in one year—and got back just $41 million from the industry. At least 38 states have deals like this. (It's not clear whether all that money the state waived was needed to attract the construction: in Georgia's case, by the state's own estimate, 70% of the data center construction would have happened anyway.)
Bulldozers are tearing through Big Bend National Park, but this is just the beginning.
Just outside park boundaries, dozens of massive excavators, earth movers have amassed, poised to unleash holy hell on this beautiful place in the coming days.
We have to stop them.
You're lying to all Americans if you call this "survey and design work":
And your "one new road" spans the ENTIRE river corridor—the beating heart of the National Park. But you'd have to spend time here to understand that, instead of shoving these plans down our throats from DC.
