Damn you, job!! I’d have been taking this offer up like a shot because I was in Chester this weekend. Anyone with a free day after Fantasycon who’s still in Chester you can get the bus to Hawarden from right outside the Queen. Book book book! Go go go!
Did you miss out on 30% off a stay today? It's not too late to secure a last-minute October stay for 30% off!
Due to a late cancellation, we are running a flash sale covering tomorrow night (Monday 14th October).

@guardian Yup. Even my two run-of-the-mill emergency c-sections were bloody traumatic. Almost nobody I know came through birth mentally intact. There are quite a few poems about the pressures on women surrounding pregnancy and birth (and the trauma!) in here… https://t.co/VeJ18oXqmv
I’m selling all my back issues of The Poetry Review to free up shelf space and make a little money for @Shelter. Only £2 per copy, free postage and I’m throwing in a bonus poem. Get ‘em while they’re hot! #poetry#poetrycommunity

Dear drivers on the M25. If you miss your exit, deal with it. Don’t swerve across the lines to get back onto the motorway. If you do this, you are an asshole and you’re going to get people killed. It happens on a regular basis and one of you nearly took me out this morning.
“A nightmarish novel about power and incarnation. Stylish, visceral, incandescent.”
It’s a nerve-wracking thing, sending our dear writers and books out into the world - and we’re so thrilled that Mary is finding her people. Thank you @poetclare ! @Ninonette
Lord Byron died exactly 200 years ago today, after falling ill in Greece while gathering an army to fight the Ottoman Empire.
Raise your game, Simon Armitage.
There is plenty to be said about his death, and you will not struggle to find that.
I, however, want to talk about..
@JennyMitchellGo I’ve written both since I was a kid, but have shifted back and forth between the two - I’ve had poems that have turned into short stories and novels, and story ideas I’ve boiled down into poems - for me, the project needs to find the form (and genre!) that fits.
Gosh, this sounds terrible.
Imagine losing 70% of your customers overnight…….
🤔
Or do we think someone might be being slightly economical with the truth?
Let’s dig in!

As I’ve said in the new blue place, I’m not going to make it to Eastercon this year 😭. If you’re going, have fun! I will very much miss seeing you all. Buy too many books and drink some fancy gin for me.
Cool to be in today's Western Mail with an excerpt from 'Woman's Wales,' forthcoming with @parthianbooks.
And of course, I managed to include some #poetry 🖊️ thanks to @AngelaCleland & @VickyGatehouse 🩷

Sunak’s words about “mob rule” are deeply unsettling.
Also, £31m package to protect MPs?
There is a cheaper way to keep the “mob” from your doors. It’s called “stop being so corrupt and self-interested and do your fucking jobs”.
