@hallerchase@RileeDHarrison Wait until your PA sees the formatting when v3 comes back from the other side- she’s going to throw a stapler at your head! 😄
@mickthehack I was so sad when I read this. God love him. The trolls and bots are already out in force just to warn ye. All those fuckers who amplified the story and beamed his photo around the world as a cudgel to beat academia and bellow rascist dog whistles have a lot to answer for.
@displacerejoice I love the dry weather (it rained for almost five months solid earlier this year) however I am looking forward to sleeping more than 2 hours at a time- feckin knackered at this stage
Falling Slowly
I'm heartbroken to hear of the passing of Glen Hansard. His music has been the soundtrack to my life for as long as I can remember.
This was one of the very first pieces I shared here during the Covid pandemic. I remember how nervous I felt posting it. Not long afterwards, I received a message from Glen himself telling me he loved my version. Those few kind words, coming from an artist I admired so deeply, meant more than I can say. They gave me the confidence to keep sharing my music, and they played a significant part in the path that followed.
So many evenings were spent lying on the floor of my cottage beside the fire with my dog Nisha, listening to Glen's songs. I still can't quite believe he's gone.
This is Falling Slowly from the film Once. Glen and his co-star, Markéta Irglová, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008.
The world feels quieter today. My heart goes out to his family, his friends, and to everyone whose life was touched by his music. I'll be listening to his songs for the rest of my life.
I’ll do a show on Glen tonight , any thoughts or requests to [email protected] , bit floored by it , but I’ve a lot of Frames and Glen sessions I’m sure you’d love , Glen and Frank Black , remember that ❤️
This is one of these days when you say ’The day the music died’ – perfectly knowing that Glen will live in his music forever. But that doesn’t help in that 1st shock. We will remember what we were doing when the news came in.
I will miss you forever😭💔 #GlenHansard
