At what point does evolution get the hint that we don’t need an appendix or gallbladder anymore? Your dutiful EGS attending. @vanessapho@Dr_Stepheny@LeahTatebe @heenastat
Thanks to WSS for inviting my team to present our @AHRQNews funded work on interhospital transfers. Many opportunities for collaboration & innovation to ensure excellent care for emergency general surgery patients. @WiscSurgery@MinterWiscSurg@benzarzaur
It's one of those days where you get home and curse at the key fob reader for not letting you open the door when you are trying to use your hospital badge to get in😂🤦🏻♀️
Today in #ACSCC22: more presentations and more Badgers!
First off, we're sending a big congratulations to
@hillaryrjohnson, who won the Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum Excellence in Research Award! Amazing work, Dr. Johnson!

Dr. @AngieIngrahamMD@AcademicSurgery talk pushes us to think about different types of bias within studies to help us...
- Be better researchers
- Explicitly mention the bias/weakness in grants to prevent reviewers from identifying it for you
- Become a better reviewer for others
What an amazing 2hrs! SO thankful for my @WiSORsurgery team - we just concluded our 1st stakeholder group mtg funded by @AHRQNews on improving communication during interhospital transfers. It was SO good! @WiscSurgery@MCWtraumaacs@UWEmerMed AND our RNs & referring partners!
@SurgeonModern@rwinfield11@JJcolemanMD@traumamom4@topknife@jnahmias1 Try as best I can to group non-thinking tasks when I am post call/post post call. No important meetings. If we do meet, I tell my team I am in post call brain fog. I find those days are good to catch up on personal life stuff too (pay bills, follow up on condo stuff, errands)
