Health is the foundation of prosperity.

I commend President @JDMahama for Ghana's strong commitment to health, backed by increased domestic investment through the uncapping of the National Health Insurance Scheme and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.

When we met earlier this week, the President also shared an update on the rollout of free primary health care in 150 districts this year, with plans to expand nationwide. The initiative will reduce out-of-pocket spending and bring health services closer to communities.

I reaffirmed @WHO's commitment to supporting Ghana's efforts to achieve #HealthForAll, and thanked the President for joining us in person at #WHA79.

We also discussed the ongoing #Ebola outbreak in the #DRC and the need for regional and global leaders to support the response while working towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict in eastern DRC.
