Lot of Evangelist are corrupt. Church finances get mismanaged. Pastors abuse kids. Gurdwara prabandhak committees are corrupt. They fight for power and money. That's why you see so many gurdwaras. The less we talk about muslim maulavis the better it is.

It's a disgrace what happened in Ram Mandir. But corruption is human nature, not specific to religion. If we start talking about corruption at Vatican, popes will start turning in their graves.

Out of curiosity, while municipality is ineffective and reforms will take time, do the citizens get involved in volunteering? Just cleaniness will go a long way in improving India's image. I have seen videos of youth volunteering to clean some old temples and ponds, but not sure how common it is.

In US, community involvement is huge. Even though local government is good, citizens don't wait for government to act on small things. Every weekend schools, offices, churches organize some community service which includes picking trash. Students are graded on their community service.
