BREAKING: 20 years. 11 launches. Zero KG mass to orbit. Maybe we should cut down on the “rapid” talk. Unless you’re the guy who claims that FSD getting lost is “rapid iteration” the route to Hooters.
BREAKING: SpaceX has once again broken the record for the tallest rocket ever built.
For the third time in just three years, a new version of Starship has been stacked at Starbase in South Texas near the US-Mexico border.
Starship V3 is larger and more powerful than previous generations, continuing SpaceX’s rapid pace of iteration as it pushes toward full reusability and deep space missions.
The scale of development happening at Starbase is unlike anything the modern space industry has seen.
Walter Isaacson today: "I definitely think you're going to see Tesla and SpaceX end up merging. They're already working together on Terafab. Elon Musk is always moving engineers back and forth between his companies. I think he wants to make this one big company."
Occam’s Razor points to over promising and under delivering turning out to be a not so great business model. Especially in the run up to a scandalous IPO.
Over the past 6 months its become clear that SpaceX is withholding a massive amount of footage that they would normally share.
I think there are a few possibilities of whats happening here:
1. The era of hype building media is over
2. They are saving a colossal amount of footage for the Flight 12 broadcast, which will be twice as long as normal and cover nearly 2 years worth of V3 and Stage Zero 2.0 development.
3. Instead of cramming it all into Flight 12, they are planning some kind of multi-part documentary that will be released in weekly/monthly installments.
Personally I'm hoping for option 3, as it would likely be some kind of Path To Artemis/HLS type series.
Sure we are sending humans to the moon, but this week’s most remarkable event has to be the haters becoming cheerleaders after getting a chance to high five Elon’s boy.
He’s still not giving you an airplane ride, but y’all look super cute pandering in an effort to get one.
Fun fact: Santa Claus is the branch manager at the bank that has 2016 dollars. Want to skip the line when you go there to get $35,000 2016 dollars? Ask for the Easter Bunny. Don’t forget to tell them Angry Local Reporter sent you! Daddy needs his referral credits.
Ten years ago when Elon Musk unveiled the Tesla Model 3 critics said it was impossible to make an EV profitably for $35,000.
It wasn’t easy… but today you can buy a Model 3 that is way better than what was unveiled 10 years ago for just $27,000 in 2016 dollars and Tesla has been profitable for many years.
The Tesla team didn’t just hit their goal. They smashed through it.
Cheers to the mass market EV that started it all. Now, Tesla begins production of the Model 3 which will start at just $18,306 in 2016 dollars and have no steering wheel or pedals.
The Tesla Cybercab features body panels made from polyurethane plastic, with the color injected directly during the molding process.
This eliminates the need for a traditional paint shop in production. For repairs, damaged panels are simply replaced according to Lars, VP of Vehicle Engineering.
There is no food in the fridge. The garage where I slept is on the right. The shower only has one towel so I left it for Elon. That was okay with me. When I was a child, I’d spend three weeks in the Kalahari Desert without showering. Many times. There was no water. I think my parents prepared me for this luxury.🤣
Someone really needs to work on their reading. First this guy thinks he’s going around the moon, now he can’t read the Path Forward either. Nowhere does this letter say any of what this brown nose blogger says it says.
Some incredible transparency from @NASAAdmin@rookisaacman regarding the Starliner crew fiasco. It will not fly again until the ROOT CAUSE is addressed, not just bandaided. I don’t see how this is can be worth it to Boeing anymore TBH. They have to be losing money on Starliner
I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my launch graphics, so I don’t have an actual graphic today.
But I’ll give you a breakdown of today’s @SpaceX Transporter 15 launch.
-140 Satellites on Board head to a Sun Synchronous Orbit
-Booster 1071 is flying for the 30th time becoming the first west coast booster to reach 30 flights.
-OCISLY and GO Beyond are your recovery team for booster and fairings
Head over to https://t.co/txYUsPRQZR to see details on the launch and check out our new Track page to track satellites and see passes over your location!
@SawyerMerritt The answer to this question is the same as the answer to “good lord, how many Cybertrucks are sitting unsold on dealership lots?”
Funny how you’re not hearing complaints about delayed delivery because SpaceX is getting all these at once, isn’t it?
This is an impressive way for a guy to move money from his left pocket to his right.
And pump up sales numbers for a failing product.
But hey, bootlickers gonna bootlick.
Pretty certain “journalists” are supposed to report, not read press releases verbatim.
If you just repeat what your benefactors send you, you’re not a journalist. You’re a brown nose blogger.
SpaceX writes “Gulf of America” in press release.
I read verbatim.
People get very upset and unsubscribe. And let me know this is why.
Isn’t a journalist supposed to quote statements “word for word”?
Very annoying to try and do what’s correct and get punished
You know you’re a brown nose blogger when you call a system that requires one guy in the passenger seat and another driving from their office cubicle “scalable.”
Tesla's Robotaxi rides are smooth, confident and human-like. If you've used FSD V13.2.9, it will feel very familiar. While I know this is just day one, and an early access program, it's hard not to feel that Tesla has nailed it with their approach to autonomy. It's scalable.
Who made this guy spokesperson for the entire spaceflight community?
Kind of ironic, given that @SpaceX has been more effective stopping his leaks than Starship’s.
On behalf of the entire spaceflight community, I’d like to thank @elonmusk for this inspiring presentation.
Lots of new info, lots of new renders, and lots of inspiration.
Thanks to Elon and the SpaceX team for building this sci-fi future.
