The Head of Social Development @IGADSecretariat, Dr. Victoria Anib (@AnibVicky1) participated in a panel discussion focused on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan and its impact on displaced populations, particularly women, girls, and children at the ongoing IGAD Annual Women's Forum in Nairobi, 🇰🇪

Dr. Anib emphasized the critical need for conflict resolution and highlighted the importance of including women in decision-making processes, especially in peace negotiations for comprehensive and sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by displaced affected populations.

On behalf of @AlwanFathia, i reiterated that children are acutely aware of the challenges our region faces, from climate change to conflict, food insecurity, disease, poverty, & forced displacement. We need to invest in children’s rights, securing a peaceful & prosperous future.

I joined children from Kenya, Uganda & South Sudan who are meeting in a regional consultative workshop in Nairobi, to provide their inputs to the draft #IGADChildPolicy.

The consultation will ensure that children’s voices are included in the development of this important policy.
