Working nonstop 15 hr. + Sat/Sun and getting nothing but complaints from colleagues. I wear 3 hats at work including being the first on call "sub" for same complaining colleagues. I do this for students, but am no longer effective. 20th yr and close to quitting with no plan...

@Desmos
I love Desmos for elementary math class and have even seen a few elementary reading activities. I am wondering if there are any high school chemistry teachers out there using it?
@IjeomaOluo So wonderful... a great author, a thoughtful, intelligent, young person, and a big brother who respects the intelligence of his younger sister. Hope through the example of three people...

@pearse_margie I am wondering if you could give any advice about writing a SLO for a PA math coach. I have always written one as a teacher, but now need to write one as a coach. Are there any good resources out there?
Feeling inspired after having the chance to listen to @TracyZager speak at OAME2019. “Good math teaching begins with us.” If you’re looking for a summer read- I highly recommend this book!
@kassiaowedekind@dcrescitelli@MrsNewell22 @a_schindy Thanks. It helps me to have your post as a starting point for conversations with others. It's definitely a challenge in a time of data, data, data.
@kassiaowedekind@dcrescitelli@MrsNewell22 @a_schindy I am thinking about state level recommendations around CDTs, Dibels/Acadience, and SpringMath. There is a push for taking part in the MTSS process, but I have serious and troubling questions. Your post reinforces my questions and I'm not sure who to else to talk with in PA.
@TracyZager @ScottGeisler12 Oh thank you for the suggestion. I will try that out. I am working on creating a PLC at our school and am willing to try anything to get more people involved. Thank you.
@TracyZager @ScottGeisler12 I need to work on this. I tried this once this year and it flopped. I had teachers unhappy with me because I asked them to think. I think it was because I didn't pick something interesting enough. I liked the question we started with tonight. #StenhouseMath
@aleaglen So true, I love sharing what I have learned in a class or online with my students. Sometimes they laugh at me, but they never doubt my enthusiasm. It's a great reminder of how exciting, and sometimes, anxiety producing learning can be, depending on the context. #StenhouseMath
@kassiaowedekind @ScottGeisler12 @TracyZager It wasn't until I moved from teaching fourth grade, to third grade, and then fifth grade that I started to see some of those big ideas more clearly myself. It was a huge lightbulb moment for me to move from skill lists, to a bigger framework...still working on it.#StenhouseMath
@tampear I absolutely agree. I am looking forward to @marian_small's book coming out so I can have ongoing focused conversations about those connections.
