The political ideology of conservatism simply isn’t a viable option in the 21st century. As technology progresses at rates that make it difficult for people to understand and process, outdated ways of thinking are causing rifts in politics globally. And perhaps this isn’t a right verse left issue, but more of a good vs. evil issue if we really want to look at these issues on a deeper level.

While some politicians in the USA are writing (and passing) laws to push children into the workforce, many progressive thinkers believe the solution to labor issues can easily be solved with automation, AI, and robotics. The old way of thinking is holding humanity back – always creating an enemy instead of coming up with a plan to move forward. Technology is one of the major factors that have caused a rift in all political environments. We have communication that is instantaneous; we can speak to people on the other side of the planet and learn about them and their cultures. We’ve learned that we do not have to be afraid of other people, because they’re just people too – and the old narratives are decaying and collapsing. People who might have never met each other now have the chance to collaborate and change the world for the better.

We see people seeking a better life at the southern border, and we wonder what the cause of their flight is. We see the mega rich condemning the poor, but not offering solutions – only division. The very reason poverty exists in other nations is because of the lack of investment from corporations which leads to corrupt governments, thusly – capitalism is forcing people to move to a sustainable source: the USA. While these rich assholes complain about immigration, what have they done to solve it? Nothing. This is how you know its bullshit, it’s fabricated – and it’s being used to create division, to create an enemy.

The age-old tactics of creating an enemy and causing fear are still employed by the rich and by conservative politicians, but it’s not as effective as it used to be. Many progressives can identify with struggling to survive and have empathy and compassion for their fellow humans in need. Meanwhile, the conservative ideology is pushing censorship, child labor, and even child marriage. The further we look into creating a sustainable society that has equality, civil liberty, and social justice, the harder conservatives push back. That’s their narrative – to conserve the past that no longer exists. We are in the now, the present. We have all of the means necessary to solve world hunger and poverty, yet we do not because of greed and selfishness.

It all boils down to one side wanting to help other people and embrace human progress, while the other side wants to turn their backs on the suffering and stifle progression and create enemies and fear. Fear is the only thing that binds conservatives. It’s their glue. If someone has love, compassion and empathy in their hearts, they’re usually trying to help other people instead of restricting them.

So no, perhaps we’re really not political after all. Perhaps we just see the old ways of conservatives that are pushing hateful agendas as wrong and evil. We’re not fans of Joe Biden, we’re not fans of Trump – but we do realize that if Trump comes to power again the little freedoms you have left will erode, quickly. We 100% agree that both choices are shitty choices, but yet look how it’s created so much division within everyone.

Conservatism does not promote a sustainable future for the human race. Not everyone wants to be stuck in the past; most people want society to move forward. We must progress as a species.
