New footage of the moment the YAMAM special unit reached three of the hostages.

This is one of the most complex hostage-rescue operations I can recall, b/c it’s in full daylight and in the center of a heavily populated area.

On Dec 1st, 2021 when I served as Prime Minister, I took a tough but good decision to designate the YAMAM as Israel’s official hostage-rescue unit (until then it was Sayeret Matkal, my own unit).

I believe YAMAM may be the world’s best hostage rescue unit.

So proud of these fighters.

Arnon Zmora z”l fell during this operation and will always be remembered for his courage.

The operation has now been named “Operation Arnon”.

What is it about the Gaza war that’s causing all these riots around the world?

During the past 50 years the world has seen HUNDREDS of terrible wars. None of them caused the massive anti-Israel riots we’re seeing now in the universities.

So what’s unique about this particular war?

Are there more civilian losses in Gaza (10,000-14,000) than in other wars?

Not at all.
The war in Congo killed MILLIONS ;
The Syrian civil war almost a million;
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan killed hundreds of thousands each.

Was it that Israel initiated this war?
Nope.
This war started ONLY because of the savage October 7th massacre that Hamas executed against innocent babies, women and men.

So why?
What’s is it about this war that gets these intellectuals and students out there burning and breaking into buildings?
Why is the ICC singling out Israel?

You know the answer:
Because it’s Israel, the only Jewish State on earth.
It’s the Jews.

It’s the same reason Jews were singled out for the past 2000 years.

Jews were accused of being lazy or too ambitious;
of behaving differently or trying to assimilate;
of being weaklings or being too strong;
of being an economic burden on society or succeeding too much in business.

The true reason was none of these.

It was because they were Jews.

This wave of Israel-hate is simply a new incarnation of good old antisemitism.

Well, we won’t apologize for being Jewish or loving the Jewish State.

I was born Muslim and lived all my life as an Arab. There was not a single day that I felt like a minority, that my mother tongue or culture was threatened with extinction, or that people singled me out because of my color, language or whatever I say or do. We have 21 Arab countries, half of them are dumpsters not worth being called states.

The total mass of territories under Arab sovereignty is 13.3 million sq km. The total mass of Israel with Palestinian Territories is 25 thousand sq km. Yet, somehow, the majority of Arabs think that conceding this tiny fraction of land to Jewish sovereignty is the end of the world, and that our salvation is incumbent on destroying Jewish nationhood.

My closest friends are Jews with an Arab mother tongue. Their life experience has been the total opposite experience of mine, suffering discrimination, unfair treatment (socially and politically) and everything that we today call antisemitism. Naftali Bennet captures it beautifully in his Post below.

You don't have to be pro-Israel. You only have to be fair and graceful. A negligible 25k thousand sq km allows Jews to maintain their culture -- including language and traditions -- and pass them onto their off springs like all other cultures do. Jewish existence in the midst of Arabs offers desperately needed diversity and breaks the liberty-suppressing uniformity of the Arab/Muslim world.

But no, we Arabs, who cannot even sort out the endless bloody feud between Sunni and Shia, who force minorities like Druze, Alawis and others to hide their faith, think that Jews will have a blast living under our sovereignty, a fantasy that not a single stretch of our history can substantiate.

And now on top of it all, we the Arabs got anyone with insecurity from other nations (Western and non-Arab Muslims) to join our own craziness and cheer for us.

It's incumbent on us, Arabs, to stand up and say no. Our world will only be fixed with our own hands and our own ideas. Time to break taboos and think outside the silly Palestine box.
