At the closing ceremony of the #AfDBAM2026 in Brazzaville on 29 May, @AfDBPresident Dr Sidi Ould Tah thanked the Republic of the #Congo for its “fraternal welcome” and “exceptional organisation” of the 61st Annual Meetings.
President Ould Tah also announced that Angola has pledged to the replenishment of the African Development Fund (ADF-17), bringing the number of African contributing countries to 25. He emphasised that the Bank Group’s ambition is to become, “the solution bank, for the Africa we want.”

📊 Advancing Regional Statistics for Better Decision-Making
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development, in partnership with AU STATAFRIC, is currently convening the Meeting of RSDS Coordinators implementing SHaSA II in Entebbe from 18–21 May 2026 to validate assessment findings and shape the Second Regional Strategy for the Development of Statistics (RSDS II) 2026–2030.
The ongoing workshop aims to strengthen the IGAD regional statistical system to support evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development across the IGAD region.
Participants, including National Statistics Offices, @statafric, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, @AfDB_Group, @Paris21 and @UNWomen, are working to align regional statistical priorities with SHaSA II, Agenda 2063, and the SDGs.
