WHAT PRESIDENT TINUBU TOLD ORACLE TEAM TODAY
President Bola Tinubu, today (Monday) at the State House had an audience with the leadership of Oracle led by its Global Vice President, Mr. Andres Garcia Arroyo.
The underlisted are the main points from the President's remarks:
1. President Tinubu applauded Oracle's commitment to Nigeria's civil service reform process and data management.
2. He emphasized the need for greater knowledge transfer through the establishment and praised Oracle for setting training and support centres in Nigeria.
3. His administration is determined to accelerate ease of doing business, digital innovation, effective identity management, efficient payroll administration and qualitative citizen-centred service delivery.
4. The President recalled his association with Oracle when he was Governor of Lagos and how the company's proven success in the automation of the Lagos State payroll system enhanced accountability, transparency and productivity without sacrificing quality.
5. Federal Government will collaborate with Oracle to replicate the Lagos success story to build a Federal civil service/institutions with accurate data and cutting-edge data management capabilities that are reliable and effective.
6. The Federal Government can only rely on well trained and ready to learn personnel for excellent service delivery to Nigerians.
7. Knowledge transfer is essential for national development.
8. President Tinubu expressed concern about country's bloated civil service payroll at the national and sub-national levels adding that payment of salary for less than 2% of the population who are government workers consumes almost entire government revenue.
9. Nigeria needs tight technological control that can check and balance all necessary points of government transaction processes.
10. Federal government is ready to work with Oracle because of the reliability of its systems and capabilities.
