@guap37@JoestarJokic Not to mention Jr’s was a maybe to even get a decent look Fox’s is much more a chance to really ice the game. Just terrible. Maybe the worst sports decision I’ve witnessed?
@alz_zyd_ I’ve always wondered if too much of our top talent goes into finance? Not incredibly well-informed on finance related research, but I’d be interested in hearing your perspective.
@akoustov From my perspective the writing of the paper is the part I would be least interested in incorporating AI into my work. There is some quality drop in writing, which I notice less of in coding or other places. But researchers (especially social sciences) should be more open to AI.
@John_W_Maki@ylecun@DavidSacks Well so he actually tried to cut the discretionary spending of the NSF to 0, which funds a lot of the very best research projects and importantly funds the most talented STEM graduate students.
@TeaGeeGeePea@ShinMarginalScr Of course impacts how widely studied they are in academia. It is probably fair to say Marx is viewed overall too positively in academia, but Phil's approach is nonsensical.
@TeaGeeGeePea@ShinMarginalScr somehow "illegitimate" . Aristotle shaped medieval theology, logic becvause Christians engaged seriously with his ideas. Same with Marx in the Soviet Union. It does not mean Marx is in any way a correct thinker, but it's kind of duh a thinkers importance in the real world
@xgabegottliebx She majored in english too. I would expect this in a philosophy department, but I don’t really understand why anyone would expect Hayek to be part of an undergraduate english degree?
@TeaGeeGeePea@ShinMarginalScr They also did, but he was primarily known in Latin christendom through Boethius. My description isn’t actually 100% accurate I was just making fun of the original post cause we have so many people we read precisely, because they were important to history.
@lezzlemynezzle@ellonico Most of the drop off from the 63% is more because of merit scholarship numbers than people who receive absolutely no aid and take out student loans.
@lezzlemynezzle@ellonico Ya, but truly elite private schools have some of the lowest average debt upon graduation in the country. If you get in, you can probably afford to pay when it comes to elite private schools. 48% of those receiving any aid are specifically grant-based financial aid, while
@ellonico I go to one of the best non ivy private school and 64% of students receive some form of financial aid. I’m firmly upper middle class, but don’t pay a dollar in tuition. The absurdly rich 36% subsidize mine and my peers educations!
@souljagoyteller I think there are now a fair number of lay people who would associate U.S. leftist’s primary cause with Palestinian liberation. But that’s entirely speculative, would be interesting to see some polling data on this.
