It's not that hard to make a catechism that clarifies these positions.

Their only official universally accepted Orthodox document says they are eternally damned to hell without any qualification of being left to the mercy of God.

Then the priest tells me they are left to the mercy of God and they contradict their universal Synod.

That is the only reason I go to Catholic Mass now is because they clarify it.

As well as the Catholics officially recognizing Catholics and Protestants as separated brethren.

Synod of Jerusalem (Confession of Dositheus), 1672. It is a later pan-Orthodox confession of high authority, received by the patriarchates and listed among councils of universal standing, though it is not an Ecumenical Council.

Decree 16: unbaptized infants “are, of necessity, subject to eternal punishment, and consequently cannot without Baptism be saved… he that is not baptised is not saved.”

I realize I wrote that weird.

1. Officially - Orthodox say that Infants are damned to eternal damnation without baptism.

Yet, they Priests say that they are left to the mercy of God - This contradiction bothers me.

2. They say Catholics / Protestants are NOT real Christians, yet the Priests tell me they are separated brethren.

All I'm asking is to Officially make a catechism that is cohesive with their pastoral advice versus their official documents.

They say infants are surely damned to hell without baptism and Catholics and Trinitarian/Chalcedon Christians are Christians.

They say this pastorally but they don't say it officially, so they do believe it but they refuse to officialize it.
