BERLIN, IFA 2026, THIS WEEK: TWO UNITREE HUMANOIDS JUST BOXED EACH OTHER LIVE ON THE SHOW FLOOR, AND NEITHER ONE THREW A SINGLE PUNCH ON ITS OWN
BFM Tech confirmed it right after the match: every jab, hook, and kick was being puppeteered in real time by a human operator standing just off camera, not run by onboard AI.
The robots themselves are still the real engineering story, standing about 130cm tall, built to absorb hits and rebalance instantly after getting rocked, which is why they can take a punch without face-planting mid-fight.
IFA Next this year is the largest humanoid robot showcase in the event's history, with G1s dancing in formation right next to the boxing ring, some of them visibly out of sync with each other mid-routine.
Crowds cheer the fight like it's autonomous combat. It's closer to a puppet show with very expensive puppets.
Exemples : Tesla Optimus V3, 1X NEO, Agibot Omnihand Pro.
Exemples : Figure 03, Unitree Dex5-1, Sharpa Wave, Robotis HX5
