Got this Heathkit OP-1 “Professional Oscilloscope” at the last electronics flea market back in September. Only had to make a few tweaks to the crt to get things looking great. Not bad for a 65 year old device!
Two and a half years later and ChatGPT Image 2 is much better at recognizing Japanese arcade cabinets, but still adds slop with wrong side art, and extra buttons to the left of the joystick? *sigh*
@psykomantis I don’t think I’ve seen this in a cocktail before, and HUO is wild! I have the OG standup and will take it to my grave it’s such a good game.
@davepl1968 If you can’t figure out how to interface with the vector processor (which would be a shame), you could try bypassing all that where the processor XYZ outputs to the deflection amplifiers, and insert you own XYZ signals. The Z might be tricky though if it’s pulse width modulation.
I should clarify, the death cap was not failing, it was perfectly fine. The reason I’m seeing 117v AC is because of the on/off/on switch was sending line voltage to the chassis (via this cap). If I move to the other on side (flipping polarity) it would put neutral on the chassis.
