Podcast episode discussing my current research project at @UFGameLab. This was my first time being on a podcast and it was super fun. Tons of incredible and adorable footage in here too! :)

A year ago today, I received the epitomal "congratulations, Dr." handshake. While it was a good feeling, there was underlying dread that my time doing science for a living was over. Given that, and current political events, I'm incredibly grateful to still be doing what I love.
I have been getting a lot of question about how hurricanes affect wildlife. We put together this video based on radiotag studies. https://t.co/Vsw0xa4VoG
Interested in working with animals? Behavioral ecology? Ethology? Husbandry?, We are hiring unique undergraduate research positions to incubate and imprint wild turkey poults and work on behavioral ecology with a captive population!
We are hiring a crew of technicians to work with wild turkeys in Florida, including a super cool behavioral project with human-imprinted poults, capture of adults, and acoustic and camera trap monitoring.

I am excited to be recruiting another full time communication specialist in my lab. If you are passionate about science communication, have a background in wildlife ecology, and skills in photography/videography, I would love to see your application! https://t.co/wFcpV8ztx4
Twas my last day of fieldwork with the Bowers Lab and all the gals rocked their overalls for the occasion. I miss these people already, but so pumped to start my postdoc!

My lab threw me a little graduation celebration, complete with a silly mock commencement. My advisor played "The Circle of Life" which spurred a glorious Simba moment. We got plenty of ridiculous photos and even managed one "normal" one. I love these people. ☺️💖

Lots of exciting news from the Bowers lab: Kelly O'Neil successfully defended her thesis "Can beggars be choosers?" and was awarded the Eugene Odum Award for her presentation at the ASB 2024 conference in Chattanooga 🥳🪇🪹
It's the time of year where you can help fish migrate through the Netherlands by watching for them on a live stream and hitting a "fish doorbell" to let them through a normally closed lock gate.

Hey Twitter! My lab is studying how humans perceive cat vocalizations and emotion. Are you willing to take about 20 minutes to help us out? All you need is a computer and headphones! Click this link to take our survey - FOR SCIENCE! https://t.co/HMDVnupSHo
Please RT :)
Even more good news this week: We were awarded a grant from Tennessee Ornithological Society for our Bird Safe Memphis initiative to help install @FeatherFriendly films on problematic windows on campus. We begin our collision surveys for spring migration on Monday.
Am I sciencing hard enough? On Tuesday, I successfully defended my dissertation. Then I gave two more talks at #ASB2024 and was honored to receive the Eugene P Odum Presentation Award from @ESA_org SE Chapter. Immense gratitude to my advisor, lab, committee, and @UofMemphisBio.
