For all my North American contacts, can you help scope a potential research project looking at the postwar history of architectural modelmaking in the US and Canada? Do you know of any retired modelmakers from this period, or the names of any workshops? If so do get in touch.
In preparation for the D-Day landings, the RAF's top secret V-Section modelmaking unit made 500 landscape models to help plan the operation. Their 'model war' helped save countless lives. A remarkable, largely overlooked contribution remembered today.
