What drives human-baboon encounters in the semi-arid landscape of Amboseli?? Water availability!
My first first-author manuscript with @ArchieLab @AmboseliBaboons is out!!!! 😎😎 Check out our paper in Biological Conservation now: https://t.co/5gUfKQ7cWn (1/5)
7/7 Knowing the overall direction and strength of microbial relationships within hosts, and their generalizability across hosts, should help us learn how microbial ecology scales up to affect microbiome assembly, dynamics, and host health.
1/7 Do different hosts have different microbiome ecologies 🦠🧬🐒? @kimberlyeroche tackled this question in the @AmboseliBaboons, and we're ready to share the preprint! https://t.co/GqZX6V9IkO
6/7 surprisingly, many of the patterns we found in baboons were replicated in a time series data set from human infants. Bacterial family pairs that were consistently correlated in baboons also tended to be universal in babies 👶🦠👶🦠👶!
I hope @ESA_org will be addressing the fact that most international participants to #ESA2022 and particularly African students have not been able to get visa to enter Canada. Most have cancelled their talks including two of my students. #DEI
