The saddest part of stories like this is that everyone rushes to discuss the final tragedy while ignoring the conditions that often precede it.

I don’t know whether Jariah Edwards was raised by a married mother and father, a single mother, grandparents, or someone else. I won’t pretend to know facts that haven’t been established.

But I do know this:

For decades America has watched the decline of the nuclear family while simultaneously watching increases in crime, violence, instability, depression, addiction, and young people struggling to form healthy relationships.

Every time a tragedy like this occurs, politicians debate guns, race, politics, and ideology.

Very few ask whether we are producing young men and women prepared for marriage, commitment, self-control, sacrifice, and family life.

A society can survive many things.

What it struggles to survive is the collapse of the institutions that teach boys how to become men and girls how to become women.

The question isn’t whether this tragedy was caused by family structure.

The question is why we’re afraid to discuss family structure at all.

This happened to Bernt Herlitz in 2017.

When he appealed the unfair dismissal he ultimately lost and was fined about $50,000.

He and his family faced financial hardship and almost lost their home, until some generous benefactors raised money for him. Bernt remains unemployed today, despite staff shortages for dentists in his area in Gotland.

At the time, Sweden scoffed at the tests and claimed they were “discriminatory” but since then they have quietly brought in mass dental testing, for those whose age is in doubt, by the National Board of Forensic Medicine.

Bernt deserves a medal. Not vilification and unemployment.

On This Day — June 3, 1948

Over half a million Arabs poured into Mandate Palestine in just 12 years to take advantage of the economic opportunities created by Jewish development — the only place in the entire Middle East with a growing Arab middle class.

Can you support slicing off a woman’s breasts?
Can you support the raping of men?
Can you support the cutting off of a man’s genitals?

Can you support the beheading of human beings?
Can you support the psychological terrorism of telling hostages nobody is coming for them and they’re going to die?

These are things Hamas did/are doing. There is irrefutable proof and evidence of all of it. These are the things you support when you chant “Free Palestine” or call for a ceasefire.

If you had an assignment for school, where would you go to do research? If you wanted to learn about America, where would you look? If you wanted to learn about Europe, what sources of data would you use? If you were curious about the UK, or Canada, or Australia, where would you turn to?

You might use Google to find sites that contain information. You might use ChatGPT (don’t tell your profs!) , Grok or another AI tool. You might ask people – teachers, parents, etc.

But what you wouldn’t do is rely on TikTok. You wouldn’t look on Instagram.

Maybe you’ll use Wikipedia, but if you do, you’ll look to verify and validate your information.

Would you ask a random stranger on the street?

No?

So why would you listen to a random stranger on a social media app?

You wouldn’t.

You wouldn’t use any unreliable source for an assignment or a research project.

So why are you getting your information on Israel that way?

Why are you believing what people you don’t know on TikTok are saying about Israel, or about the war in Gaza?

Why are you trusting an app that shows education videos to people in China, and politically charged videos to people across the world?

Why would you believe any source without verifying and checking the validity of it?

There’s a war going on in the Middle East right now, and there’s a lot of different information flying around. There are facts, and there is propaganda.

Did you know the war was started by the people of Gaza on Oct 7, 2023? Did you know that on that very same day, before Israel had even responded, people were out on the streets protesting Israel, blaming Israel for the massacre that the people of Gaza carried out against Israel? Did you know that before there was even a single casualty in Gaza, there were people marching throughout the world, accusing Israel of “genocide”?

You wouldn’t know that if you’re only getting your information from TikTok. You’d only believe that Israel was an apartheid state guilty of genocide. You’d believe that Israel had committed awful atrocities against the people of Gaza. You’d believe that the rape, the kidnapping of children, the brutal genital mutilations, the burning of people alive, and all the other barbaric atrocities carried out on Oct 7 were “resistance”.

And you’d be wrong.

One of the biggest gifts we’ve been given, is our brains. Our ability to gather data, to process information, to think critically, to weed out what’s real and what’s not, to determine truth from falsehoods, honesty from lies, reality from propaganda.

So why are so many people not doing that now?

Have our future generations become lazy?

Or are they just so ready to blame Israel and the Jews, that they’re willing to take what they’re seeing at face-value?

The problem isn’t TikTok or any of the other social media apps that are being used to propagate and push these narratives. The problem isn’t the algorithms that are being used to shove antisemitic content into people’s For You feeds. If those apps weren’t doing it, some other vehicle would be.

The problem is the audience, and how open they are to Jew-hating narratives, and how unwilling they are to think critically about the information they’re being fed.

That, is the biggest threat to our civilization right now.

Because it makes us far too easy of a target, for anyone who wants to conquer us.
