Her groundbreaking work on Riemann surfaces and moduli spaces continues to inspire mathematicians worldwide.

Breaking: Iran’s Regime Moves to Execute a Female Protester

Bita Hemmati, a young Iranian woman, is reportedly at imminent risk of execution by hanging alongside her husband.

She was arrested after taking part in the nationwide anti-regime protests in January, part of a wave of demonstrations demanding freedom and basic rights.

According to reports, Bita Hemmati is being held in Evin Prison in Tehran, a place long associated with political prisoners, torture, and forced confessions. Like many others, she has been denied due process and access to a fair trial.

Her “crime” is demanding FREEDOM.
In just one week, at least 11 men have already been executed.
Now, the regime is turning its machinery of death toward women.

Hundreds of women are currently imprisoned. Many are under torture. Many are facing long sentences. And now, execution.

Where are the voices that claim to defend women?

Where are Western feminists leaders?
Why are you silent. A massacre happened in Iran and many of you were silent and now your voice can save a life.

This kidnapping threat must be taken seriously. I received the same photos and the same threats before agents sent by the regime were arrested outside my home.

@Vahid is one of the most important Iranian voices on Telegram and X. He publishes videos sent by ordinary people inside Iran, videos that expose the Islamic Republic’s brutal reality: massacres, torture, prisons, and nationwide protests. Many international media outlets have relied on his reporting.

Now he is receiving serious threats.

He has been warned that he could be kidnapped just like Ruhollah Zam. When the Islamic Republic uses that name, everyone knows what it means: abduction, torture, and execution.

I know these threats are not empty.

Before armed agents sent by the regime were arrested outside my home in New York by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I received hundreds of messages saying the same thing: “We will put you in a sack like Ruhollah Zam, take you back to Iran, and kill you.”

Those threats were real. The regime had already sent killers to American soil.

That is why I will always be grateful to the FBI agents who saved my life.

Today I hope U.S. authorities take the threats against Vahid just as seriously. In recent days, several Iranian journalists and political activists have received similar warnings.

The Islamic Republic has a long history of hunting its critics around the world. Ignoring these threats would be a dangerous mistake.

Whether it was Mojtaba Khamenei or his IRGC handlers, the first statement from the current regime’s new leader confirms what the Iranian people have known all along: the Islamic Republic is incapable of change. Terror and repression are in its DNA. This latest statement promises only to continue the same insatiable bloodlust and chaos that has held our nation and the world hostage for decades.

By explicitly threatening our Arab neighbors with continued military strikes and doubling down on the regime’s proxy terror networks, the new Ayatollah sounds just like the old Ayatollah. We cannot appease or negotiate with a barbaric dictatorship that views the occupation of our nation and the destruction of its neighbors as a "divine" mandate.

It’s long past time to turn the page. Don’t throw this regime a lifeline. The only resolution to five decades of aggression is to end this regime once and for all.

روزهایی که از یک دانشجوی منتقد و دلسوز برای کشورم در اوج جوانی و عشق به میهن، تبدیل شدم به «مجرم خطرناک»؛ جاسوس، اقدام علیه امنیت ملی، توهین به رهبر، اجتماع و تبانی، ارتباط با رسانه‌های خارجی…
اتهام‌هایی که مثل پتک روی زندگی‌ام فرود آمدند و همه چیز را ویران کردند.

یک بسیجی به شیشه زد: «حرکت کن.»
مبهوت پایم را روی گاز گذاشتم و راه افتادم.

در مسیر رانندگی چند بار ایستادم.
برای من، تقریباً در هر خیابان این شهر، ردپایی از تلخی جمهوری اسلامی مانده است؛
خاطره‌ای از ترس، تحقیر، بازجویی، دادگاه، یا انتظار پشت درهای زندان، هر خیابانش به جای نقطه امید جایی بر سرکوب تعبیه شده بود. بارها به خاطر حجاب تحقیر شدم! در همین خیابان‌ها…

خدای من…

و با این حال، در دل همین شهر، زیر صدای آژیر و انفجار، حس عجیبی جریان دارد؛
